Basically hey have a Humble Indie Bundle where you can pay what you want and you can direct it to go to a charity and/or the developers. Cool!

Nice, good to get a few mac games for a change too. Already completed world of goo, but haven't played any of the others, Gish looks great fun.

It's a great deal, but I already have them all.

But I bought it anyways to show support for things like this, but asking them to donate my money

NICE catch. I already have world of goo as well, but those other games look awesome. I've played the Aquaria demo before and loved it. I'm glad to finally own it

I can see most of the people buying it paying $0.01 for it...
I've done it before. And i would probably do it again, but its wrong so i wont be doing it this time

I find it a big silly for the developers to do this because the chances are they would make around 10% of the amount they would usually make. But yes, a great deal none the less

Already bought it, had World of Goo, Gish and Penumbra anyway. Had lugaru absolutely ages ago but wouldn't mind giving it a bash again.

I paid $2, which is one of the best offers ever for me. Although, Steam really does come close:

Codemasters racing pack
- Dirt
- Dirt 2
- GRID
- FUEL
- ToCA Race Driver
All for 16 euros (~$20)

GRID (seperate) costs 50 euros!

Along with a steering wheel with force feedback I found in a Second Hand store (is that right? Second Hand? You know, when somebody used it before) for 20 euros (store-value ~100 euros), it's totally AWESOME.

Thanks Steam! And the creators of the Humble Indie Bundle!

I paid $15, because I have a soul .

That Penumbra is one weird game, cool though, love how you can actually smash a bottle for a change.

I paid a penny, cuz I have no soul And also because I'm super broke. I may donate some though if the offer's still going at a later date.

i had that in my cart; when i went to pay, it had gone back to full price. grrrrr (not the first time that's happened to me recently).

btw, grid showing €50 for you? steam regular price is $24.99. and, i had added the pack to the cart and then went off to research grid and dirt2 (wasn't sure if i'd be able to run dirt2 with decent graphics settings, etc). after 30 mins of watching vids, etc, the price had gone up

I paid $2.56 for Penumbra. I would have sent them more, but it's all I had in my PayPal account. Never played it before; but I keep hearing it's a good game.

Penumbra scared the buhjeezus out of me last night. I fired it up to just play for a bit before going to bed, turned the lights off, adjusted the brightness correctly and all that jazz. I normally don't get bothered too much by these games, but the little bit that I played was really well executed. Props to its creators for making something really freaky. The only other game that's creeped me out like that was Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth.

And Lugaru is pretty cool. At first I was unimpressed, but then I started progressing further and realizing that's some amazing AI for an indie game. Really looking forward to Overgrowth.

I did $10 split 50/50 between Child's Play and the developers. Don't care much for the EFF

EDIT:

Damn, Aquaria is a bit big compared the the other games. ~200MB. Not that bad but just vastly larger than everything else

Man thanks for pointing this out. The last thing I want to do is give money to the EFF.

Just to clarify, the reason I explicitly set EFF to zero is that versus the original creators of the game and a charity which helps children, I found EFF to be the least worthy (and a three way share reduced my $10 to very little per cause)

I hope this succeeds because I think this is a great model for indie game devs to make money and gain exposure. A good friend of mine runs a DIY record label in a similar way. The label hosts albums which can be downloaded for free, and if the downloader likes the music, they can give a donation. The money that doesn't go toward operating costs and advertising goes straight to the folks that are in the bands. They don't make a killing, but it helps some smaller groups afford a small tour. Cool stuff.

According to the website, people have donated roughly $400,000. The average person gave about $8.00.

FYI, Samorost 2 (point and click game) was just added to the pack

http://www.amanita-design.net/samorost-2/

Played a little demo on the site. Whilst it starts off unfriendly and slightly odd, it has some genuinely great little puzzles (Section with the monkey and snail is awesome)

Trivia:

Gish is in Dumbow & Cool (DBP game I made ages ago)! He's in level 5 of story mode. I got permission to include him from the developers etc; a bit of music from Gish plays when you find him too.

Great game.

Big news! If the sales reach $1 million the source code for Gish, Lugaru, and Penumbra will be released! Wow!

Really? That actually makes sense. Mac users have already spent most of their cash on premium hardware, and PC users are too thrifty to bother. Linux users (99.99% of which are geeks\nerds), on the other hand, will do almost anything to help indie developers. (slight overstatement )

Looks like it will be close if it reaches 1 million, less than 2 hours to go.

One anonymous person donated $1337, and 'unsigned char' donated $255
