Hi everyone,
Backstory
As I keep going on and on about every time I come back here, I'm making an animated film called Milk Paton. It's based on an old series of YouTube videos I worked on way back in 2006/2007.
Open source
The project is getting a bit long in the tooth; it's probably around 75% done now - we're just refilming parts now. The problem is, I'm running out of energy working on this; 4 years is a long time, and motivation on my behalf is low etc.
I had a think about SETI @ Home and other similar projects, where a small effort on the part of lots of people is tantamount to a large effort by one person.
My proposal
Basically, one of the real time eaters in this project is cutting out images. (Its an animated project) I figured I could ask a handful of people who maybe interesting in helping out on a film to lend me a spare 45-60 minutes, which they might otherwise spend doing nothing, and help me out by cutting out a picture.
Maybe these people either want to try their hand out at some graphics work, want to kill some time, are genuinely helpful, wish to have their name in the credits of something or would like to cite working on my film in a CV...Lots of reasons I think people may wish to help out.
Where?

To sweeten the deal, I've also made it so that every frame is worth a couple of "tickets" in the prize draw for the actual Milk Paton prop. Just a small bonus, but I don't really want to think of this as a competition.
Future
As the project comes closer to being done I plan on kind of "opening it up" more and maybe putting up "finished" scenes on the website for feedback > changes or adding new tasks to the website. Perhaps people could think of new jokes for scenes or any number of things.
Underlying thought
I've been thinking alot about the process of making this film; what if it had been open source from day 1? I say open source SO, anyone who contributes and wants to see how the film is coming together, is welcome to ask to see parts of it.
Open source is the future of a lot of things I think. I'd be interested in working with the "open source" philosophy more and more in future...It interests me because it seems like such an efficient way for projects to see the light of day, and yet, it hardly ever works out. Why is this do you think? Is it because they lack co-ordination? Food for thought.
Conclusion to post
Finally, to finish off - I really appreciate anyone who decides to help out with the film and help me get it done; it's turning into a bit of a monsterous project and I could really do with seeing it come to a close!
