Wow. I must say there is quite a bit of a story to this. As it was a crap day. But also a very great day (in the evening when all hope was lost)

Also if you don't like Metallica that's sweet but I'm just posting this cause I thought some people might find it funny and/or interesting...

So here is my story. And how I got the golden ticket out of a chocolate bar.

Well, actually I got it off the internet but its still golden so its awesome.

[story]

It all started about a month ago when me and my good pals found out

was coming to New Zealand!

Naturally. We were freaking out like little girls as we had all grown up listening to it.

Pre-sales started Tuesday to all TicketMaster members. So at 12:00 that day, over 500 tickets sold fairly quickly. I missed out, as I was focusing on my job rather intensely.

"It'll be fine. ACDC sold out in 4 hours so we'll have plenty time when they come out Thursday to buy them." I told my buds.

So Thursday, 9:00am, I was at work on Ventrillo to my friends. Refreshing TicketMaster Metallica page every second so I could be sure when they were officially available. Bang, the text "On sale now". Friends and me spammed our tickets quickly. Annnd...
...
...
...
WUT?
...
...
...
How the hell could they be sold out already?
Desperately we tried the second concert. Sold out.

TicketMaster. Sold over 28,500 tickets, in the span of 15 seconds. All valued at $153.50 each.

The rest of the day was pretty bad and kept having to listen to everyone at work talking about it.

As I am writing this it is 7:01pm New Zealand time.
It was 6:00pm when TicketMaster released an extra 50 Golden Tickets.

Despite the fact I was with my friends at a restaurant, we gassed it the whole 3km back to my place.

4 tickets for me and my friends all paid for on my card, and they better pay me back.

Thought it might be a laugh. So yeah. Long day. Day of madness.

I have a feeling ACDC plays in NZ more often than Metallica, hence the slower sellout. I saw metallica at our 20k seater amphitheater(now demolished) back in '98 and I don't think I bought my ticket until a day or so after they went on sale.

Thanks! Yeah I'm pretty pumped. Its pretty sad for them to play at Vector Arena here as we have a lot of more suitable places. As the 28k tickets are for two shows on the 13th and 14th. And yeah, ACDC plays way more often here. Don't think Metallica has actually been in NZ for the past 15-20 years. Possibly the last time they will play here unless they last another 20 years

Yep, stumbled upon it recently while trying to repack the closest in my office. Still got a t-shirt somewhere, but i think that's more a rag now, than a shirt..
