For any thrash fan, this is the ultimate concert.
US tickets are available, so it would be wise, that if you live in the US, to get your tickets now.

Does anyone here plan on going? If not, does anyone plan on seeing it broadcast in HD? I won't be able to attend, but I will definitely watch it broadcast. I figured that I would post this because I know that there are a good amount of thrash fans here.

Well, it seems that my country has been left out.

I can't wait to see if any of my nearby cinemas sell the tickets. It will be great, hopefully it'll be a annual thing going to different countries. But Metallica(AWESOME!) Slayer(AWESOME!) Megadeth(AWESOME!) Antrax(AWESOME!). It is pretty much my day out. Shame that to get the full experience you have to go to the sonisphere.

Europe?? what makes you so special They need to bring this lineup within 400 or so miles of me. For me the theater would just not be the same experience at all, might as well just wait for a dvd.

True, but wouldn't it still be more immersive than a DVD?

only if there were a lot of other fans there. Home theater has gotten so darn good. The DVD would also be edited down to kill the time between sets and they will have time to balance the sound correctly to give you good stereo, live broadcast performances usually have pretty weak audio.

this would be a little too weird for me to do; sit in a movie theater to watch a concert. now, if they aired it on a jumbo screen at one of the local music venues, or even at a drive-theater, i'd consider it. i see neither as an option near me, so...

meanwhile, i followed the ticket links and they appear to be ~$18.00, or roughly twice a local movie ticket. about right, i guess, considering what it would cost if they were here live. will they be selling t-shirts? what will they do between sets now that i can't wander around and see the (curvy, scantly clad) sites? i hope they don't force someone like riki rachtman on their captive audience so he can talk about how used to hang with the guys on head-bangers ball.

all i can say is i hope they keep the place well-ventilated

I was also wondering: are they gonna leave the chairs??
There won't be much stage diving or mosh pitting or headbanging sitting on chairs, hehehe!

Nonetheless, I'm pissed that they left out my country! Aaaaaaarggh!

I guess I'll wait for that dvd too.
