I'm not the most popular kid in my school, I may not have the best hair or wear the best clothes. But the best thing I can do is not care. Being a geek, nerd, or whatever you want to call me has been the best thing for me. I'm able to wear whatever I want because i'm not to be held down to a certain "style". I can talk about whatever i want because I don't care about what others think about me. I get to play games all day and not worry about whether i have something to do with friends.

So to all those who are ashamed of being considered a geek, nerd, whatever people call you, be not afraid if it is the truth. Think of all the good things that come with it, Don't worry about what others think about you. Be free with yourself, do what you want to do.

Don't label yourself. Or other people.

End.

well. I get called a geek. but by my friends. Not sure if it counts. They know im pretty clever. But I'm not really that much of a geek. Sure I program and I get good grades, but I also play guitar and drums in a band, I skate, I have friends, I row, I play football. So I wouldnt consider myself a geek really.

Thanks,,,

I don't ever label people. I've just been labeled and I label myself too.

Keep on keeping on.

What if I label myself as awesome?

Because I am.

Not much of a memoir IMO.

But yeah, I was once a secluded friendless geek who was happy with that. Now I have friends and enjoy spending time with them.

All I'm saying is, if you can have friends and still keep your geeky ways, go for that.

(Oh yeah, and MGS rules. )

No, no, no...SLAYER rules...and me! Hehehe!

As for the topic: it doesn't mather if your a geek or not. Just be yourself and don't force your opinions upon someone or hurt someone, and that's all that mathers. We're all different but unique, so nobody should judge someone else, because we ALL have our good and bad characteristics.

We are all awesome, and so is...SLAYER! Hehehe!

Cheers

I am about to do something that will shock all of you; make a Demon Hunter reference. There is a reason to why I am making this reference, you will see it after hearing the song and reading the lyrics and meaning.

Song:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ByyDmmJ34Q

Here is what Ryan Clark had to say about the song:
Quote: "10. Follow The Wolves

Run

Every second is a pure affliction
But I can feel your pain
Choke back the burn of wrath as they violate your name
No sign of innocence in this godforsaken place
When the truth is in your hands, they’ll spit upon your face

Dismantle the ground they stand on
Give power a name
You’ve traveled the path of slander
Now bury the shame

Shed rejection
Learn to follow the wolves

Chorus:
Run away to the blackened sky, through the fear of disbelief
Run away from the hollow cries, to the shelter of release
Run away to the blackened sky, through the fear of disbelief
Run away from the hollow cries, to immunity

See the struggle of the faithless lot as they negate their time
How low to sink to the depths of their frame of mind

Dismantle the ground they stand on
Give power a name
You’ve traveled the path of slander
Now bury the shame

Shed rejection
Learn to follow the wolves

(Chorus)

No tear for desolation
Nearing the end of our misery

(Chorus)
------------------------------------------------------------------
The idea behind Follow The Wolves comes from a thought I had about being “wolves in sheep’s clothing,” and how you could very well refer to us (a Christian heavy metal band) as “sheep in wolves clothing.” And in conjunction with that thought, I thought of how the term “sheep” was often used to deem someone a mindless follower. And if someone were being a “sheep” by mindlessly following the flock of worldly desires, then again, we must be the wolves.

This idea got me thinking about some of the fans that have written us that feel like outsiders in their schools or churches. There are a lot of Demon Hunter fans that feel very alone in their principles and convictions within their environment, and they’ve written to thank us for being a source of inspiration and stability for them.

This song is for all of the fans out there, pressured to follow the rest of the world and fit in with the crowd. The pre-chorus says “Shed rejection, learn to follow the wolves,” which means to forget about the ridicule from your peers. Follow us, the outcasts. We understand your struggles and we will overcome this world. "

in school i wasnt the geekiest person (people thoght i was more of a stoner because i always slept in class and other stuff). infact i dont like those who try to be a stereotypical geek for the label or maybe teyre just to afraid to try new stuff other than programming or playing games all day. I used to be kinda like that. my best friend and i, we werent too geeky to start out with, but in highschool i met some really cool fun people and started hanging out with them more and distanced myself from my geeky half. My best friend on the other hand became waaay too much of that type of secluded geek who whould rather stay in the house all day play games and study for school. Kinda sad that he became that way, i used to like him more when we actually hung out a lot and did fun stuff.

I will say though that I do play games a lot. Like, all the time.

I'd go to more social events, but I always fell kind of left out, I'm easily the most left out member of our ka-tet...Tears.

I think that you can be both a socialized person AND a geek who stays indoors and plays games. I think the problem with certain people is they don't know how to prioritize their time. i'm both, i like to be social with friends and i like to be indoors, read books and play games. i dont know but that's just me. and yes, MGS rules, the first is the best.

More than being a geek, you're your own person. Just don't forget that part, it's rather important.

I don't think being Greek is better than being any other nationality. Racist.

Geeks will rule the world! I have pretty much the same thing that you do. I get called a geek and I only answer to that is: "Yes I am, so?" But from what I understood in your text, I thou have friends, who are not the most popular eather, but I think they are the coolest guys in the school. And I wouldn't care what people think, even thou I was a popular person. If that made me un-popular, hten I am happy to be one. Being popular prety much, in my school requires listening to rap, not standing out from the rest (as in I am the only one i my school with dreads), being the "perfect person", always talking about mopeds or other stuff (wich I am no way interested in) and all other stuff I am no way interested in any way.

So I am very happy with my life...
