I am buying 1 in a week or 2 and so far my tops are
Hp mini 311
Asus 1201n

I'm not on over zealous gamer but I do play Mw2 and strategy games, If it plays even on lowest graphic settings I'm considering buying it. My above choices are both slightly bigger than netbooks and have Ion graphics. If anyone has some good suggestions or you have one that is awesome post it.

I recently picked up an Acer Aspire 5740, it's a little bit more than the price you're after but it runs 3dsmax, UDK, photoshop and MW2 without any hiccups. Plus it comes with windows 7 64bit.
I did pick up the one with 4 gig of ram and a 320 gig hard drive for the price above though as it was on sale. I would recommend saving a little more and going for a better laptop though.
Good luck with finding a netbook that won't choke under MW2 aswell.

dont get a netbook, they are worthless, spend a little more, raise your bar to at least 600 bucks and get a decent laptop. my netbook broke recently so i decided to buy something decent at least. I got an acer Aspire 5541G it has a dual core athlonII x2 2ghz, 3 gigs of ram, 250gig HDD, a good 15.6 inch screen. and finally the reason why i got this (was hard decision since i hate Acers but i badly needed a decent notebook and didnt want to get Emashines so acer was the next best thing) the reason i got this one was because it had a very decent graphics card. an ATI 4570. I spent about 600 bucks on it but it was on sale.

Take a look at newegg.com, they have several good looking laptops in your price range.

While both those laptops are very decent, I don't think their specs are what I'm looking for. The currents laptops I have listed have nvidia ion graphics and I know that they can do some gaming based on YouTube, google, and reviews. Honestly I would get a laptop but unlike a hyped gaming netbook the amount of resources on how it performs are lacking. I would try to buy one but if I don't like it I don't have the money to replace. I hope this explains why I'm being picky, however I'm going to take your advice and head to newegg.

My friend has a intel GMA 4500HD in his laptop and he says its pretty good at games (plays fallout3 on medium with no lag) i am sure you can find something within your price range with that card altho personally i dont like intel GMA cards and shared system memory is bad. seriosly, borrow 200 bucks from a friend, and for 600 bucks buy something with an hd4570 for 600 bucks or if you dont have any friends sell something for 200 bucks

I know integrated isn't horrible because I used one before I got a graphics card on my desktop, but honestly I would like a more dedicated one. I'm on amazon right now looking up laptops, I'll post if I find a decent one. I got my desktop for under 550 and it has core 2 quad core at 2.6 ghz and 8 gigs of ram. I'm determined to find a deal with specs a lot less then that.

Wow... HP has been sending me adverts about their laptops. I want one, but I know next to nothing about them. I just want a laptop that I can program decent games on as well as draw with... hopefully I can hook my Wacom tablet to it so drawing my webcomic will be easier when I'm on the go.

Edit: I'd rather edit a post than make a new one so soon... anyways... here's some of the stats the HP laptop I'm currently looking at...

Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
• Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual-Core Mobile Processor T4400 (2.2 GHz, 1MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)
• 2GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
• 320GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
• Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator 4500M - For Celeron and Pentium Processors

And this one is being offered to me for... $425.00

I keep hearing that HP laptops easily fall apart or something... anyone have any experience with these?

Any idea of how good a Pentium Dual Core T3400 2 ghz is, i found a dell(I said i hate them but I'll make an exception). I would appreciate a quick response because the deal is on ebay, thanks for your help.

Edit:I'm just going to edit mine here saying that my brother looked up this laptop on ebay yet we can't find the graphics card on it on the listing. So maybe this isn't a decent laptop.

It's better than a P4 but not as good as a core 2 duo.

About that hp laptop, I personally love hp's. I have one of their desktops and it is the best purchase I ever made. If their laptops are similar I would say you will have no problems with it.

The above laptop is probably the best deal i found so far, I just emailed the guy about which graphics card it has. In the mean time what do you guys think?

Hey guys, sorry for double posting again but I found another pretty cool deal.

It seems to be decent, it has ATI Radeon HD 4200 Graphics which isn't too bad and I think the processor will perform well.

when was the last time you took it apart cleaned it out and applied new thermal paste? every laptop is going to overheat eventually if you dont mantain constant.... maintenence. I think HP laptops are decently built, There are worse things on the market these days. But really they dont make laptops like they used to. every laptop i had that was from 2004 and up, eventually started to crack in the case, or a hinge broke, or something else physically gone wrong that has to do with bad quality plastic or other parts. Older laptops are rock solid and made out of much better materials. I owned a lot of old laptops that were from before 2003. i had to trow em all away because i was moving, but not a single one of them has as much as a crack or a flimsy screen, they were all in great condition. My friend now owns an OLD clevo from around 2003 with a celeron in it. its not powerful, the battery is long dead, we did a cople of upgrades on it like the ram and the CPU. The thing is still in mint condition despite it being 7-8 years old. Not a single newer laptop lasted me more than 2 years.

Edit: Almost forgot to mention that when I want to play a game that is very intensive I will use
streammygame
which will allow me to stream the games from my gaming desktop PC.

I think I'm just going to buy the asus based on the videos and reviews I have found. It is not a normal netbook and is very well capable of playing a lot of games at least on low or medium. Below are some videos that i found of it.

Mw2

Unreal Tournament 3

There are plenty more if you search it on youtube.
