not feeling it. and, i better not have to sign up to remove it.

it's a shame that they've gone this route, i feel. i've come to appreciate the various timely logos throughout the years, along with the plain white background**.

so, they've done it to match a bing feature/option? i say let everyone else try to be google instead of the other way round.

** i like to keep the lights out in my office at night. when i need to read something away from the screen, i click "home" and use the faint white light which the google background provides

Yep. I just noticed their new backgrounds a few minutes ago as well. I kept setting the mouse over the google logo to find out what holiday/event the new flower-covered ceramic piggy bank background was celebrating.

Anyway; http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Web+Search/thread?tid=52d49a85dcfbdb9f&hl=en

[Edit] Posted before I read Kraven's post

Lol..new problem...made the background white again but now some of the font is unreadable on the main page. Oh well. It works well enough.

kravenwolf's link states it will go back to default white after 24 hours. otherwise, you can sign in now (which i won't sign up to do...) and change the background color.

i guess i reacted too quick, reading more into the the link (the first one that came up when i googled "google background image") and the headline that included "atleast for 24 hours", as if it was indefinite.

I like it, but it does look a little busy.

On a related note, Blackle seems to be the same as it's always been.
