Hey all, watching a gaming mill video on YouTube (funny reviews), and it's 18 wheels of steel, american long haul. I knew that path texture looked familiar! - they stole it from Tersculpt.

Have a look and see if you can spot any of your own work - I don't care that much, just a bit surprised that they couldn't rustle up some textures of their own. The textures from Tersculpt are all public domain, but that is just a little pathetic.

It looks like they stole the texture and somehow made it look worse...

I did notice a few textures from CGtextures, which look very similar. I know the textures on these places are all free for usage, but from a published title I expect a little more...

I'm pretty sure i've seen this pavement texture somewhere as well.

CGTextures is great, I use their media all the time - that's where the original photo for the texture came from. I thought maybe they had used the same photo, but did that tileable test, which confirmed it.

It's possible they used the same texture software, which generates the same fractal pattern, or whatever it's called. I know when I load up Corel Texture and generate textures, I always get the same initial patterns for block work, until I change the settings.

However, I find I think it's far more likely they are thieving scum. I am without sin, so I shall cast the first stone, and it shall be a biggun, with sharp jaggedy edges.

Insert piccy sig here. Eh? Why didn't that work?!?! Must ring help-a-noob. What was the number again? .... where am I?

I don't begrudge anyone using CGtextures, i use it all the time aswell, but usually for base textures before heavy editing but just copy and pasting textures is terrible for a published title.

Lol! Wow... CGTextures is perfectly legit though. It's all royalty free

Love CGTextures to death!

EDIT: We should each send them a message telling them they are awesome just because.

Yeah, CGTextures deserve a lot of kudos - I think I've used their media in most of my games. I keep meaning to buy their texture DVD.

Fallout, I could understand that, but the texture is done by hand, no automation, just lots of clone-brushing and shifting details. Tonight I will see if there's a demo download for it, see what else I can find . The irony is that if someone came here and posted screenshots of a game using their textures, mods would have to take action.

Maybe we should have a fair-play clause in the AUP, they steal our stuff, then we can steal theirs! - get those trucks FPSC ready!. Just kidding, of course.

I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

Eh? Public domain is public domain. I don't see the problem.

Using CGTextures isn't theft guys, they're free for anyone to use. Lazy for a pro company? Perhaps. Theft? No.

It also doesn't look like a really "pro" game anyway...

They didn't nab the texture from CGTextures though, they nabbed it from Tersculpt. CGTextures is fair game, but they downloaded Tersculpt and took the new, tileable texture from there.

The rediculous thing is that there's probably 10 people on their art team, it's a subset of THQ, there's no excuse for not making their own media besides lazyness . The ironic thing, as I said is that if someone was to then take textures from that truck game and use them here, mods would have to take severe action.

People need to read posts. My moan was the fact that they had just grabbed textures from the internet and pasted them into their game with no editing, which is shameful for a commercial title.

Hey van, notice any rolling hills in the game that seem could possibly be made with Tersculpt?
