i remember something similair, i was 12 then i guess, our cat was quite old, and then he became sick, he was trowing up and my parents said, if he do that again, we go to the vet. And he was trowing up again. so we went to the vet. and he said he was also sick, he gave him an injection, to sleep...

If he's suffering it's better for his sake to just have him put down, as hard as it is. Sorry for your loss.

i have to agree with benjamin, if he is suffering for gods sake go to the vet and well, "have him put down" better that way, done it twice with our dogs, believe me, it is not fun but it is better than letting it suffer

Last year, my dog that I had for 10 years died in my arms. It kinda sucked, I had to bury him in the yard.

I had my dog for 17 years before she was diagnosed with cancer. We decided to buy some medicine to make her comfortable and kept her with us in the house. She was lively and running around like normal up until the night she died.
We found her in her basket in the morning, looks like she went in her sleep.

My point being, if there are ways to make your pet comfortable so that she goes peacefully at home then go for that, unfortunately it's never that simple though.

There is nothing worse then the loss of a pet. But we all have to remember that this is a natural process of life, you only have to hope that you have done the right things for your pet before it dies. I am not saying that it isent sad, but just remember that if the pet loves you, they probley feel the same way. Try to make him/her as comfortable as they can be, if the animal is suffering it should be put down. My opinon anyways.

I remember when my cat died, i even have a picture of me and the cat dead, i was crying, the only picture i have of myself showing true emetions is that one. We had to put him down because he would have alot of pain if we dindt, we burried him in the backyard, I think of it as the right thing to do.

I must agree with the posts above. When my dogs would get deathly sick, we had them put down. It causes more suffering on both parts to keep your pets alive than it is to have them put down.

I just now realized I've had a typo in my signature for the past 3 years.

@Kumi I thinking your in it for the hope.. thinking maybe Muxu might just make it. The thing is your very wonderful cat lived a long and very happy life. All and I mean All of my cats past within 4 years of having anyone of them, and they dident get the option to go in a nice peaceful way.. two were poisend one fell out of a tree and hert her self(she was put down) some got sick and never came home. I gave up on liking animals.

But I gave in when I got my dog Coco, had him for 3 months and we had to put him down, we spent all together $5,500 vet bills. I can say that I never loved anything other then my family more then I loved my Dog, every time I hear a door squeak it reminds me of his little cry. Now ill never get an animal.. not jocking but I think ill get a fish, My first fish I had him or her for 3 years and it past but I dident go and drink my sorrows away... get a fish if your going to get another animal, a fish can never be better then a cat or anything, they forget everything in like 3 min.

Sorry for your upcoming loss, but it would be time to let Muxu's life end by you giving the command.

And dont get me started on cats and dogs going to heaven, because if God can create and do all things, Im shure my Coco and soon Muxu
will be in heaven!

If your vet has suggested pills for your cat then its not all lost, I do believe they think its very sick and may not make it and thats sad but natural, thing is most vets know when its best to call it a day. My sister took Sprout her little cat to the vet and he said she was real sick (she was twelve years old) and we thought well thats over, however the vet held her and said 'poor wee soul, what can I do for you?' he was one of those real caring types. He gave her an adrenalin injection, that cat recovered immensely after that and only recently passed away at the grand old age of 23years.
So dont give up on your wee cat just yet, but be prepared for the worst and make his last little bit of time as loving as the good years were for him, you obviously gave him a great life already.

That's really sad I wish the best for you too.

Our cat is 12 now, so he still has a few years to go. I will miss him too when he goes

BTW, the average age for a cat is 15, so 14 isn't a bad life.

I recently lost my cat who was 17, he had a tumour and had to be put to sleep. 17 is a ripe old age for a cat but it is hard to lose them when they have been a part of your life for so long.

2 years ago my dog had to be put to sleep too, he was nearly 18 years old he'd been my pet for more than half my life since I was 17.

In the end though it was easier to put them to sleep than watch them suffer with the pain and indignity of their ailments. Now I remember them when they were healthy and happy and brightened my life so much.

Do not attribute to malice, that which can be explained by stupidity.

A couple of weeks ago I was washing dishes and saw a dog in my yard. I thought it was cool because he looked like that dog from Our Gang with the black circle around it's eye. He moved to the right outside of my view and I leaned to the left to see a smaller black dog gnawing on something yellow. I came outside and saw it was my cat Hooker (she had a hook tail) already dead. The dogs were both pit bulls. I called the cops and they said all they could do is site the owners for a leash violation. I was ok with that... I just wanted the owners to know they shouldn't let their dogs roam free.

Sorry for your loss.. when I was a kid my cats would be a good help when I was sad. Its like they know your sad. While Muxu is in heaven hes more then likely wanting you to be comforted, best thing to do is be strong for you and Muxu, your little buddy that wants you to be comforted, he might be getting sad knowing your sad and he cant help.

Time will heal all wounds. How much you care for him shows how much Muxu had a good life, and a good life he had.

You should. I play alot with my dog, and walk him alot. He is really, like a littel brother to me. And I want to know he has a happy and love full life. Too sad our birds were kinda afraid of us. Altho one time when I was sick, I was lying on the couch, and other one of our birds just sat down on teh end of my foot, and spent a long while just being there. They were kinda old thou already. Like seven years. And I think our dog knew what he had done after he ate other one of our birds and wounded the other one so bad, that it died fast after it. He was quiet the whole day and wasn't in a very playful mood at all...

this makes me sad, very sorry to hear this, i know what it is like, i had a dog a couple of years ago called "Zippy" she became 12 years old, thats old. She was so weak she could almost not stand and were mostly lying in my bed all days. I do however believe she had a happy life since she was the typical "mother and watcher dog" meaning she enjoyed just staying home and watching over us, i could see that much. And thats the most important thing isnt it? that you and your pet had a great time together.

I hope your cat will have a great time in cat heaven aswell

I'm kind of against putting a pet down.

I mean, if your mother had cancer and was dieng, would you ask for them to just kill her? No. In my opinion, it's the same thing with animals.

Also, half on topic, a famous youtube cat named Flippy (From Flippycat) had to be put down recently. Looks alot like your cat there.

Best wishes to them both.

no, since they cant talk, and look, what if your mother was dying from canser, and every move she did just hurt, just breathing was painful, they couldnt do anything, and keeping her alive would just be a pain for her, everyday she was begging to die, i mean, hell even i would, no matter how much it would hurt for me, "put her down" thats just what we do with animals, they are in pain, there is NOTHING we can do, why, WHY, let them suffer to death when we can just put them down without the need of suffer?

@Monkey Mja

The best thing to do in life is to put yourself in other peoples shoes. Do less teaching and more thinking, thinking helps you to understand and when someone would ask you of something then do your preaching/teaching.
