I'd say the Move is a copy of the WiiMote and the Kinect a copy of the EyeToy stealing some of the Wii's market.

For example:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Au4d5anfjnA

It amuses me that people keep saying the Wii brought us motion control gaming, in reality, Nintendo managed to market it and offer something that worked a lot better than the EyeToy and now, Sony and Microsoft realise that it is a successful market. So Microsoft seems to have invested their money in something similar to the EyeToy, but a lot better and Sony invested their money in something similar to the WiiMote.

So I wonder if people who are now saying, "the Kinect is a copy of the Wii" they said, "the Wii copied the EyeToy"? The EyeToy had a lot of the type of party and fitness games you can get for the Wii.

The point at the end of the day is, innovation in technology and the market is never all that original and as consumers we should be happy that people are offering bigger innovations and building on top of other ideas rather than standing there screaming, "oi, you can't do that, we did that first!" because wouldn't the industry just slow down?

oh please, can we just stop this ridiculus "copy cat" discussion right now? it is just silly, i HATE it when people say "ugh look, it looks like this, copied"
or
"ugh it works like this huhuhuh copied"
oh so... lemme see, pepsi copied coca cola? since they both taste the same and all that
alright... now i know...

then basicly everyone who are making cars are copying each other since they look similiar?

did Half Life copy Doom or whatever for being an FPS? just because Doom (or whatever the first FPS was) is an FPS aswell and came before it?

this is all just bullocks in my opinion.
"Copying" is a GOOD THING, it Revolutionaries things, since if NOBODY could make anything SIMILIAR to SOMETHING ELSE we would still live in caves.

I actually like where this is going. It seems like all three console developers have gotten together, and decided on a way to stop the whiney fanboyism once and for all. Make all of the consoles exactly the same!

It doesn't matter. Every single video game system ever made is just a cheap imitation of Atari.

@ShaunRW - there's finally co-op =D. And everything looks much better, too, now that they have a dedicated team working on it rather than 5-7 people. I wonder what other gel's they will reveal in the future

I agree with Quik. Like Kravenwolf said, if no one made anything that someone else made we'd still be playing in arcades right now.

Sure Kinect is like nothing else out there? *Maybe* an EyeToy comparison could be made, but not a Wii-mote comparison

Quote: "PS3 Move? Are Sony really stealing other ideas now? First it was Xbox's future plans of WiFi, then they added Memory Card support for older consoles, similar to the Wii's outlook, now they've stolen the idea of Kinect and Wii? Wow, I still like PS3, but it's almost like Sony are running out of ideas. Firstly, the controllers for it are a slight hint of' That's What She Said!" and do you really want to look like a nutter waving 2 coloured balls around (Once again, TWSS )? I wouldn't, Kinect looks so much better since you can TALK to the characters via voice recognition (at least that's what it showed on the Tech Demo). I bet Sony'll have that soon...

As for the new Xbox 360 Slim, I'm selling my Xbox, HDD, N+ Xbox Adapter, my old ATi 4550 and a few games so they should flog me £200 . I SO want the new Xbox, so if I still don't have enough, then it's time for a job .

And to waver away from my Sony outrage, what Sony have in mind is pretty cool, but the Move just sounds like a copy of Wii and Kinect as I said before. I'll wait to see what Sony say about the further features of it.

I can be considered a 360 fanboy but Sony had the whole Move thing in the works waaay before the Wii was a glint in Nintendo's eye.

I actually read it on these forums. I forget who said it but I sure know it wasn't some new guy, otherwise I would have indicated that it seems unlikely.

Well, there's no way anyone here would know that, unless they had worked at both Nintendo and Sony.

If that were the case, then I am sure they wouldn't want their presence known, clearly they were hired by Nintendo as a spy against Sony. And well, if they're here, then TGC best be on the look out, because it seems apparent Nintendo is out to steal their project ideas, probably for the iPhone market. Keep your eyes peeled ladies and gentlemen, we have a mole.
