I never played the original, but I had a few friends that were manic about it when it came out. I had heard this game was coming out from a friend, but i didn't give it a second thought after he told me.

It seems like a neat concept and the visuals in the vid, along with the credits at the end of it, made me second guess whether it was a game or a movie coming out. I took a look at some screenshots, and it looks like a pretty impressive FPS.

Looks good. The original Deus Ex was one of the best games of all time. The second one was a big let down and the engine was GPU hungry. I'd imagine they will completely dumb down what made the original great, but hopefully they will create a new game that is awesome for it's own reasons.

Insert piccy sig here. Eh? Why didn't that work?!?! Must ring help-a-noob. What was the number again? .... where am I?

Speaking of upcoming new FPSs, Apparently 2K is working on an X-Com game. I think that would be neat too. It's a shame that they won't make it turn-based strategy like the original.

The first one was awesome, one of my favorite games. The second one sucked. During the making of the second game, the creator mentioned how graphics were a low priority in making the first and during the second they were going to try harder for impressive graphics. It looked nice, but they lost the focus on gameplay and ruined the game. I'm not holding my breath for the 3rd one, but when the demo is released I'll give it a fair chance.

I think the Deus Ex series is great, I loved the first, I didn't mind the second one, but since when has a sequel been great? And also it has to be one heck of a game to beat the original.

True.. Well Need 4 Speed got lack-luster and boring.

But I guess you could say the reason for the others is because it kept to it's game formula.
Quake = Always fast-paced action no real storyline.
Unreal = Always fast-paced action no real storyline.
Diablo = Can't say anything here, Diablo is just awesome.
Need 4 Speed = Got boring and rubbish to me anyways.
GTA = Free reign on everything including killing the poor folk.
AoE = Strategies don't really change much.

But again it is true what you said the majority(Not you N4S) are usually good. I wouldn't say it beats their originals, but yes good. But then again a sequel is not good anyways because you kinda get the jist on what is going to happen, and you pretty much know everything in the world, like Halo, you knew about pretty much everything, and the developers cheekly threw in some new enemies hoping for people not to notice their repetive non-sense.lol

let me correct u

Quake 1-2 and 4 and territories and now 5 keep a real story, no fast paced action.
Unreal - has a story somewhere there, but ur right here.
Diablo: yeah diablo is diabloXD
N4S: well, the newest ones are just the same with some new cars, functions and graphics, the OLD ONES however rocked.
GTA: does actually have a storyline, usually a very good one aswell, if u dig into it.
AoE: (suppose u guys mean Age of Empires)now this one is renowned for being one of the first RTSes with "real" 3d, and being very good, even up to date (the first two) i think it is one of the greatest ones there is, and yes, RTSes change a lot.

now that is how ur list should have been.

Must disagree there. The first game was awesome. Then they went all unoriginal and arcadey and completely lost that man + machine + open road driving experience. The first game was unique and one of my favourite driving games of all time. The rest are mainstream drivel!

i wouldnt say that N4S is mainstream. I dont know many games that lets u trim and style ur car like that, and the cop chases are really intense and awesome. However the driving feeling isnt too bad when ur racing imo.

You also need some sort of notable connection with the big boy developers, or a member of the press.

I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

Yeah. And I could throw a bottle at Gabe Newell when he revealed that the surprise I've been looking forward to was Valve supporting the PS3.

I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

WOW
I'm still in the middle of playing the original Deus Ex, never had the chance to beat it.

This looks thoroughly awesome, I hope it turns out to be so.

Check out this WIP flash game from the Global Game Jam!
