why are you goig to jail?

the hair looks cool btw. It sucks when you have a job that keeps you from practicing your looks. you have to look all professional and stuff, but really i like to have long hair (feels good to your head when you headbang to heavy metal)and i dont like shaving too often (usually once a week) makes me look more like a man, instead i have to be neat clean shaved and combed. even Amyrildora's hair wont do. i have the metalhead look about me which i like but they supress me

lol, if only I didn't cut mine off 2 years ago...then people would basically worship me more than they already do. (We all know people worship me, right?)

The only problems with dreads are that they're a pain to maintain and although you can get special shampoo for them, the first 6 weeks, you're not meant to wash your hair and it isn't fun. Also, if you're prone to acne like me (hence I constantly wash my face) then it just makes them worse...with all that grease.

But for the time I had them, I was in love, but I'd never have them again - especially now that I'm looking for work and there aren't many job opportunities for a dread-head.

Dreads are NASTY. Sorry to say. They're unwashed, greasy hard clumps. How is that cool or sexy? I know I'm being blunt, but I would never date a girl with dreadlocks. It's dirty and filthy by nature! I'd much rather run my hands through soft straight hair

I think people think they look cool more than anything. You can keep them clean...that is, after the initial 6 weeks of dirt and keeping them clumped, but for cleanliness, they need constant attention, which I'm sure a lot of dread-heads don't do. Mine weren't too bad in terms of cleanliness, but I didn't maintain them well, hence they started fusing together. But don't worry, I'm not bothered by your bluntness, I can see why you think they're nasty.

But after getting rid of my dreadlocks and allowing my hair to grow, I've got awesome hair (IMO). It's really curly, which seems to make some people jealous, I even had a random drunk stroke my hair in a bar...well...at last he wasn't coming on to me (I seem to attract weirdoes for some reason). It can even get springy, which provides literally hours of entertainment. Because I take good care of it, I can swing my head and say, "It's because I'm worth it!"

Well, they might be hard to maintain for the following year or maby even more. But it's all worth it. And they haven't been any harm to my acne at all, becouse they aren't constantly on my face like my old "normal" hair. Washing your hair isn't so much harder than washing "normal" hair, but drying... Well that's alot harder work, becouse they can't be wet. But it's all worth it to have the coolest haristyle out there.

It's your opinion and I respect it, as long as you respect mine. I love them and there in nothing anyone can say to change my mind. What if the girl was like the love of your life and then one day she happens to get in mind to get dreadlocks? Just putting that out. For me hair is not teh priority in human, but.. well, I said it already, that I respect your opinion, even thou mine is different.

Hair care is for women, all men need to do is wash it with shampoo and dry it off like a mad man. Forget all this hair jell, spray and other stuff, its a waste of money and quite poncy in my opinion.

Why you freak if I said you were sexy?

Seriously, why you asking a Game Design forum for fashion tips?

BTW, I don't find you sexy.

It was worth it, I mean I don't regret having dreads, in fact, I miss them, but I'd never have them again.

The pain with the washing is that even though you use special shampoo, it can still leave stands of hair straying away from the dread and if you don't keep them maintained afterwards, they can start to fuse together.

Hence why I only had them a week. I guess technically mine were more like braids than dreads. Still, the catholic school was not too happy about the look.

Gotta admit it's a nice change of pace from all of those damn console war debates that pop up each and every week in every other thread.

I have to agree there. Someone I used to worked with wore his hair in dreads almost everyday. One day I asked him how long it takes him to do that each morning before work, and he told me he keeps them in for about a week and a half before he takes 'em out and washes his hair

Quote: "all men need to do is wash it with shampoo and dry it off like a mad man. "

If only it were that easy I've been rockin' long hair for about three years now, but since mine is naturally curly, I have to condition, heat guard, and straighten it two or three times a week to keep it straight. Otherwise, it ends up like this;

I don't fully hate being bald, it makes bathing much easier.

I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

They weren't propably real dreads then? You don't like take real dreads off to wash your hair. Only way to get real dreads off, is to cut your hair. Was he wearing a wig or something?

i wish i had dreads but my line of work dosent respect that, i do like having somewhat long hair because it makes headbanging to metal so much more fun. it even kindof gives you a cull massage. just leave some facial hair and you wont look like a girl altho i have to admit that people mistook me for a girl (looking from behind me) a few times, then i turn around and they see my manly facial hair and start apoligising to me lol.

I think that my boss wouldn't appreciate if I came in with towel dried hair. It looks horrible.

It's ok for everyday but you can't get away with the attitude that hair care is for women if you ever want a real job...

Nah. Hell, I use a flat iron, heat guard, hydration shampoos, etc on mine. There's nothing wrong with looking good and taking care of yourself when you can help it. Anything else is just lazy.

I'm with Agent Dink and Kravenwolf. Maybe you can get away with never doing your hair (and admittedly, being a cube monkey at the moment, I often let the shortness of my hair take care of itself), but when ladies or jobs are on the line--time to bring out the gel/spray/pomade.

I have to agree with that. I don't think it should be necessary, but sometimes it is.

And I guess overall it's just personal preference.

It all depends on what you are trying to accomplish and obtain. You can't catch a trout with a can of spaghettios. (Well, I guess you could, but you might get an aggravated battery charge o_O)

I dated a girl with dreads for about a year when I was 20 or so. She also did not shave her legs, armpits, etc. Before she got her dreads, she was a cutie, but afterwards she looked like a dirty lioness that rolled around in the mud. But then again, I had a mohawk and was pretty dirty myself. Anyways, I grew out of it and we went our separate ways. Now, I just shave my head about once a month or so, but I always keep the beard.

My green thumb grew the tree my Trojan War horse was crafted from. With roses in our pockets we rally round the tombstones. Ashes to ashes, we all fall down.

Real men moisturize!

There I said it. Nowt wrong with looking after yeself, it's the reason I've acquired an addiction to Lush.

But hey, the more you look after yourself, the more the ladies will take notice. (Saying that, I'm uglier than a baboon's rear end)

Yeah, now I bet all of ye's are going to go to your nearest cosmetics shop rubbing moisturizer into your skin frantically, chanting, "the Seppuku-meister is right, I have to be pretty, the girls! Oh the babes! I must be sexy. Oh holy Seppuku how you are a god in our eyes!"*

Nah, real men don't even wash, comb, or have their hair cut! They also don't brush their teeth, shower, or waste time with any of those feminine tasks Personal hygine is for women! And women only fall for 'real men'. That's why every time you see an unwashed bum sleeping in a box behind a Wendy's with a dirty beard the length of their arm, he's surrounded by beautiful women.

Well, I suppose that's true, if you wash yourself you're getting rid of that wonderful musk women crave for, greasy hair? I believe it's called 'Au Natural' the most natural of all hair-gels, after all you want to be ethical and environmentally friendly, chicks totally dig that, it means you're sensitive and therefore will listen to all of their problems.

Lol lush

Never really been all too bothered about my hair style, Proved that with bleaching it white for a luagh, skinhead, OTT anime gelled, and every style and length over the moon.

That said, i have a girlfreind now so i keep it reasonably styled, nothing over the top and cut down my impulsive changes

Last profile pic, taking the mic outa my friends ever so serious webcam poses with black'n'white photoshops and thoughtfully placed hand resting on there chin. So i went doctor evil on them!

And no, i havnt wore a shirt for over a month. Its my house ;D

Those are certainly necessary. I just think that anyone should feel the need (socially) to make their hair look a certain way.

Either way, good job for Asteric and Kraven, for putting up with what they were born with.
