Is more than one entry allowed?
Because I'd love to make another prop

Each night the Boogie man checks under his bed for Chuck Norris, but he wakes up several times throughout the night to make sure General Jackson isn't under it.
Contest Deadline has been extended to August 24th. Main reason, we would like the prop room to have more stuff inside. It's kind of sparse, see for yourself..
We encourage people to make more than one object, and entering more objects will earn bonus points when it comes to judging.[/quote

cheers henry

Henry, i would just keep the diffuse texture low contrast for the speckled iron, and try making a micro bump normal map, maybe just pass a noise filter through the normals? Never tried it though.

@lazerus
I meant if i can get it to fit through the door ^__^"

...Lol

@David Gervais..

Here is my Final entry (Maybe do another prop, depending on free time!) I hope its ok, kinda new to this game so learning as I go!

Made me see that I have lots to learn and its not as easy as it looks! Entering this comp was a good eye opener for a newb like myself! Like I said b4, No chance of winning but great for the experience anyway! Lol.

PS: Please re-download the modified files, Thank you.

Modelled a Fire Hydrant.

Being lazy with this and kind of just baked the texture from the scene onto the model. Added 2 textures in download, both cartoon shaded, but one is slightly more metallic.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, AMD Phenom II X4 940 3.0Ghz, 2.0GB Single-Channel DDR2 @ 400MHz, ATI Radeon Sapphire HD 5770 Vapor-X

Henry, why did you paint highlights into the specular?, also the checkers shouldnt have that much contrast as they are the same material.

Mazz426, I know you have been away, but the first post does say that the contest deadline was 'extended to August 24th', so there are 11 more days left. We also want to encourage people to make more than one object, we want this 'Prop room' to be stuffed!!

Cheers!
