Hey y'all.

Yo, I'm gonna do some research, for my upcoming Rpg (You can see my progress here...http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=171879&b=1) I'll need to learn all about the most common(you know, most used...) Greek mythological creatures,Gods, etc., as i'm planning on taking ideas from there. I also gotta have some knowledge about midevil stuff - you know, swords and sheilds, and all about 'em. Anything like that. To Study this, i'd figure i'd just grab a book. Anyone know of a book that contains info on this stuff, or at least some of it?

Aww, I thought you wanted me to list awesome books.

I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

Me too

I'd just hit the library and grab a dozen books on the subject. Read some to find some you like, and roll with it.

So did I, so I will list one anyway, Tarzan of the Apes. All the Tarzan books are gripping and literary perfection.

My wife teaches highschool mythology and she suggests http://mythman.com/ for some info on mythology. Click on "HOMEWORK HELP CENTER" and there are a lot of things categorized. As far as weapons and such, it would really depend on the era and location you are wanting to look into. I know you said "midevil," but a lot depends on location and even time. The midevil time period was broken into 3 different times i think. But check out http://www.middle-ages.org.uk/middle-ages-timeline.htm

I know they aren't books, but there a lot of things to read there!

If you want to learn about greek mythology and learn a bit of stuff, the percy jackson books actually are very good for that.
It teaches you stuff without you really realizing it. I wouldn't say you would learn enough to make a game, though.

Wikipedia will teach you everything you need to know. It's just not very fun to read lol.

Signature's are stupid.

Wikipedia does not have an article with this exact name.

Most books on medieval life and mythology written for adults are crap for reference. I'd suggest picking up the Eyewitness Books. Every page is filled with image references and information. So it's pretty much perfect for helping plan your game. Most library's have these books.
