Vote:
WW2/Past - 6
Modern - 0
Sci-Fi - 7

Im planning on making a game and I wanna know what you guys think (yeah im using FPSC but i figure post here ) and what do you think would be the easiest to make? (Im a medium level game creator)

My vote would go to modern or sci-fi or ww2.. i like all of them pretty much, prefer modern though (love bad company 2). I wont count my vote.

If you dont say like past or sci fi im going by what I think your comment meant

add one vote for sci-fi. and, i don't see how one is easier than another. do whatever you end up doing to whatever extent you are capable of.

Sci-Fi. I think this would be the easiest for your creative process. The other two would require you to use things that already exist and you could face more criticism for inaccuracies.

Plus, I just like the Sci-Fi genre more. I've already seen most of what the modern/past era has to offer in games and in real life. I would rather see something that I have never seen before.

Sci Fi - 3
Modern - 0
Past - 1

Yeah I like Sci-Fi

And shouldn't this go under game design? Just saying...

Im leaning towards sci-fi besides never really tried a sci-fi game before. Obsessed with making zombie games (with FPSC) and 2d (with another thing).
BTW wwiv studios...
WW IV - world war 4 (I think, never was good with roman numbers) (future)
ironic.

Fantasy futuristic. Pretty much sci-fi but... I'm talking more about games like "borderlands" (not very sci-fi), halo (very sci-fi), Fallout 3, KOTOR, etc.

Put my vote in for sci-fi I guess, unless you can come up with a better name

WW2 is obviously easiest. Modern seems to be the current craze thanks to a large amount of chavs and 12 year olds obsessing over Modern Warfare 2, so there is demand for it.

I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

there needs to be a good survival BC game. Like, play as a fire-starting, woolly mammoth stabbing, sabertooth tiger wrastling, lil' civilization conquering caveman, with clubs and stones and traps. Could be a beat-down

Doesn't that sound awesome?

Go modern. It's not done often but when it is it's really cool.

Napoleonic era, would just love to see a FPS where you get one shot and then have to take 20 seconds to reload the gun or fight with bayonet.

And that is only a tiny fraction of all the scifi games out there. Video games have been scifi since space invaders.

Whatever the story calls for, I don't think it should be as black and white as "past, present or future" because it has to fit the story.

I prefer Modern. I hate Scifi unless it mixes some present type stuff in with it and some horror stuff. Like Dead Space, or Doom 3.

I've been getting more into the sci-fi genre lately, as some things are rather interesting, but I like all game times. Past games are fun, but so are present games.

I just now realized I've had a typo in my signature for the past 3 years.

Why limit yourself to the eras that have already been done to death? I'd like to see a Napoleonic FPS. Or a gritty 19th century police drama, kind of like Westwood's Blade Runner. An RPG set in the English Civil War (1642-9) would be a great opportunity, too.
