Got a free code from Fileplanet, downloaded it, played it for ten minutes then stopped. Why? Because it's complete garbage.

1: The lag is god-awful. I usually get at least 70ms ping, and I end up teleporting back to where I spawned quite often. Yeah, it's a beta and beta netcode is usually understandably awful, but seriously, the game is a reskin of BC2. The netcode should be as smoothly-running as BC2, so this beta has no excuse for unbearable lag.

2: It's very dumbed-down. As I mentioned earlier, the game is obviously a reskin of BC2. So why, WHY did they take out the medic class? All you do is shoot people. There's no specific roles, even when you start out as a sniper, you don't get a scope, so it's largely similar to playing as the other two classes, but with a gun that isn't fully automatic.

3: Overpowered air support. The cruise missile thing has a HUGE blast radius to the point that it requires no skill. Think the pred missile from Modern Warfare 2 but with the blast radius of a nuke. So if you're getting fired at, you go to hide behind cover, and the enemy can just drop a bomb on your head whenever they feel like, rendering cover useless. At least in Call of Duty you need to work for your air support (not that it was difficult to get an airstrike) but now you start off with one.

4: Guns are way too easy to use. Each gun has no recoil, kills in a few shots, so the game consists of people sniping each other from either end of the map WITH SUBMACHINE GUNS. Aren't SMGs meant to be close-quarters weaponry? Yet you can snipe with them? Something is wrong here. Each player having the same overpowered gun is boring as hell. If you see a guy a split second after he sees you, there is nothing you can do, you can't dash behind cover (because of aforementioned reasons) you can only stand there and be gunned down.

Everyone feel free to post their opinions, but my opinion is that the game seems to cater towards casual gamers and little kids.

You know I actually agree with a lot of the crap you said. I waited for a long time for this game and its kind of a let down that it doesn't seem like its going to be that good.

I actually don't notice and lag when i'm playing really. Maybe you were in a bad match idk.

I thought alot about that too. Why would they take it out idk. I know there ARE Light Machine Guns in the beta, you have to unlock them by leveling up... but they are under the assault class????

One thing that does bug me that you did bring up is that all you do is run around and shoot. Thats it. There is not a darn way to even try to be tactical. Boom boom scorechain, boom boom more scorechain... your team won. The end.

Quote: "3: Overpowered air support. The cruise missile thing has a HUGE blast radius to the point that it requires no skill. Meh, I don't really think its overpowered. Their is actually two different ones. One is the first Score Chain and then if you keep killing people you can get a more powerful one.

I do agree with this completely. Once they see you, you are dead. There is no really getting around this.

Another thing I would like to bring up is leveling up and crap. All it says at the end of the round is.. 'you have leveled up'. Im like... uhh cool I guess.. but what did I unlock? It doesn't even tell you and its almost like a pointless feature in the game.

Overall it makes me disappointed. Not only because I was hoping for a good game, but because I almost pre-ordered it. Which would have made me really angry.

first of it is an BETA, and it hasnt been patched even once. And this thread belongs in the MoH beta forum.

i NEVER lag for some reason, i havent had a single internet related lag since i started.

i do believe i agree here, the roles could use a lot of remaking in my opinion, for example more options to specify the class, at the moment we get 2 weapons total on the assault class and 6 attachment... seems a bit too little at all, if thats all we get why even have to level through it?

a medic class isnt needed since we regenerate health over time.

reeealy? as far as i know, ANYTHING which blows up in MoH cant kill due to its awkwardly low blast radio, i cant kill as a tank since i need to shoot the targets head on, same with the "noob tubes" and i cannot recall the scenario you are telling.

you have no SMGs in the game whatsoever so what are you talking about? we have ASSAULT RIFLES, or should i say M4s and AKs? fully possible to kill at long range with those sine they are made for it, and you get a long range scope as Assault class at lvl 7, no problem with that.
however i do agree with that we need slightly more recoil in the rifles, and perhaps the ability to start with a scope on the sniper rifle?

oh and about the "they see you and your dead thing" this is fully logical, if someone spots you and starts shooting you shouldnt really have the time to get to cover and start shooting back, you see: Movies are a lie. Guns are lethal, a single hit should be able to kill, however they were nice enough to make 4 bullets kill unless it is an headshot. so i dont see what you are complaining about? the guns do perfectly enough damage for it to be quiet realistic and still be fun to play.

I doubt I'll bother with it - Not that I've been playing much FPS games on the 360 anyway, but it just sounds horrible.

For one thing, if there is no medic class, there is no drama. I mean, I like the option of going a medic, and being a hero, unselfish, distributing morphene and lollipops to all my fallen comrades. That's how I play BF2, MAG, BF2142, it's just the best balance of support and action. I don't know why they can't make a more realistic game for once, maybe even a FPS that requires some thought.

I haven't played a MOH game since they stopped being on the XBox in split screen, and even then it was a struggle to keep interested in it. If WW2 is your bag, then BF1943 on the 360/PS3 is well worth a look, cheap, enjoyable, and a complete rush if you find a good server.

Guess why betas get released? It's so the developer can get feedback from the community. No this isn't an official MoH forum (I thought it could be a good thread because people seem to have mixed thoughts on this game) and that doesn't mean the lag. It means giving feedback on balance issues and flaws in the game, finding overpowered weapons/traits and fixing them before they can become a problem, which is exactly what I'm complaining about here.

Quote: "a medic class isnt needed since we regenerate health over time."

Ever play BC2? In that game you were a medic so that when someone died, you go up to him, Defib him and then find more people to help. It's not about regenerating health, in BC2 your health regenerates and there are still medic crates that make it regen faster.

Have you even seen the cruise missile? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YShwHoFRy_o

There's an AK74u which can be classified as an SMG, they have similar stats to SMGs from BC2, so for all intents and purposes, they're SMGs. And no, ARs are for medium range gunplay, not sniping.

Realism does NOT rule over gameplay. Gameplay is always more important. Nobody in their right mind would make a game where every bullet kills in one shot. Having a game whose gameplay evolves around 'if they see you first you're dead' is rarely fun (the only exception is instagib mode in Unreal). It blurs the line between good and bad players, because anyone can come on, not good at FPSes, and get an easy killstreak.

Seems most FPSes these days are going on the same downhill trend.

Yeah, but unless I'm mistaken, it's illegal to post information about a beta publicly.

Well, from all the trailers it looks like Bad Company 2, with different weapons (overpowered) and characters. The spawn system looks terrible, spawning right in the middle of a firefight and instantly getting killed before you even get to say Hi.

This is one time where i wish DICE (battlefield developers) would ditch EA and find a better publisher. Their worst mistake was handing over the frostbite engine (BC1 and 2 engine) for EA to play with... now we're probably going to end up with 5 battlefield clones by 2012, all made by EA, ruining DICE's awesome reputation.

I only wish they'd make BF2142 for the 360 - that would be pretty epic, it's an ideal game for that, just the right balance of vehicles and weapons, and you have to really work for weapon upgrades. I especially like the Titan matches, there is always something to do - either attack the titan, take over a silo, defend your own titan, transport people back and forth, stop the enemy invading the titan, and that's just with 1 game mode.

I'm holding out though, because I worked a little overtime while on holiday (yeah, I know) - but it equates to about £400, so I'm buying a pair of VR920's . Should be ordering them the end of the month, then I'll be all about Oblivion and HL2 in VR, 360 shooters probably won't hold my attention after that dollop of awesome.

What i dont like with EA is that they always want the game out before it is finished...

The spawn system is wonderful, i love it, i rather spawn in the middle of a fith then to spawn in the base, trhne have to run to the fight and once i get there get killed.

the weapons is everything but OP, they make a bit to little dmg in my opinion, and everything which includes explosions can't kill.

Every gun deals out way too much damage. If they did less damage you'd have more time to get behind cover and flank them, otherwise gameplay is very instagib-style.

I personally can't remember a time when MoH didn't suck, and that's irrelevant, CoD's more or less stolen it's place on the market...

hey guys this is a BETA, i hate it when BETA's suck myself but they put this BETA out there for feedback, why don't you send them these issues, potentially phrased more tactfully mind if enough of you do it you could easily shape how the game turns out, then again i just remembered the release date, its only what, 1 or 2 months away, wow what a stupid time to put out a beta. Also Dice are behind the mutliplayer for this game so it really should feel like BC2 however i hate it when seperate developers make the multiplayer entirely independant from the singleplayer as from what i've seen the singleplayer looks great but from what i've heard here the multiplayer sucks... ehh

The beta is out this Late???

Wow, i really do feel for the development team now...

There in for a world of crunch time... I thought Betas where classed as in half was through development when they had a viable system. Shows how quickly there throwing these games out, if they've only just got it ready for public testing, and there throwing it out in 2 months. I can imagine the exploits its going to go through and the amount of patches and tweaks before it will be playable.
Oh wait, it already has been hacked...
Ill admit CoD has taken over the market as the leading fps'er mainly due to its popularity and markerting. Your friends have it, why dont you?! and Oh look everyone has all these new maps to play and your going to be left alone, Buy both packs now before we realese our new game, itll be worth it for the same amount you bought the orginal game for.

So yes Games need to pull there heads out of the bums and think of something that will blance gameplay and realism, becasue honestly i was bored of mw2 after 1st prestige after i pretty much had to grind back up then do it all again. Fracture looked promising but the severs dryed up pretty quickly.

Allied Assault was like, the best WW2 game out there.

But yeah, I pretty much agree with the "screw EA" view. Maybe the rest of the world will when they're buying "The Sims 4: Super awesome mega cool stuff volume 7"

I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

i think at the moment they're using the "BETA" as a pre-order pusher and its working, they've probably had a viable system *cough BBC2 cough* for a while and they've just held off on it to boost initial and pre release sales however as you said it'll impact the running of the system, so lets expect lots of LAG, connection issues and first day patches just like the PC version BBC2 when it was released; but hey EA have a lot of work to do to chatch up to Activision as far as milking francises goes

It might be beta, but that doesn't mean that your expected to test it, or anything like that. It's a marketing tool, wet the appetite and secure some pre-sales.

There is no way, on this earth that EA would release a beta that wasn't almost ready for alpha, as much as I'd like to see early betas of some of these games. Does anyone remember BF:MC on the 360? - sometimes the ragdolls would go crazy, eyes would bulge out of heads, limbs would deform - it was funny as hell sometimes. And that game had a demo version - a really generous and popular demo too, got to play a whole map, 3 games I think then you had to re-start. These days you spend an afternoon downloading a demo, so you can play it for 3 matches then it's banned from your profile. Frankly though, if I thought that any of these games would last as long as BF:MC has, then I'd be happy to buy them. I player that game constantly when I first got a 360. I wonder if it's still being played these days.

acually this is just good, since then then usually have a team specialliced for the MP and one team specialized for the SP, meaning both parts will be good istead of having an SP team work on the MP.
