Thats a rather nice screen shot - quite impressive. How far are you from finishing it?

Im quite a while away from finishing it, creating the media takes a lot of time (there will be ten ships to fly, so I have to create ten 1024x768 cockpit graphics, for example!).

I aim to have a beta up of the flight engine within a week, and hopefully betas for the game itself about a month later.

Im glad you like the shot, thats almost a months work to get the engine that far. If youve ever played the Freeform demo on the DarkBASIC disk you know the kind of thing to expect from this game, except Freeform Space will be bigger, better and slicker than ever before

The text labels are part of the target computer and radar system, to help identify what it is you are looking at. We are toying with the idea of systems with high populations having multiple space stations in, in which case you would need to know which one is which. Also, planets will have the system name and a number - e.g. Cargue I, Carge II, etc. This will be useful for exploration missions where you have to deliver a probe into orbit around a planet.

My system spec is : AMD Athlon Thunderbird 850mhz, Creative Labs Geforce 2 GTS, 512 meg Ram, Windows 2000.

I was running DirectCD, ZoneAlarm and AVG Antivirus in my task bar. The screen shot resolution was at 1024x768x16 bit colour.

Thanks SpaceInvader!

Thanks Edzup for the offer, but at the moment we dont feel like we need any help, weve got everything in hand (even the in-game music!).

I'll keep you all posted on the development... expect a flight engine beta test in the next 7 days!
