Are you serious? Why don't you just have someone translate it into English? I will gladly do it if I can get my name in the credits...

So you don't want to make a game in english becouse you aren't good at it, but want every single one that plays it to learn italian? That makes sense.

And you are you also gonna say that we have Polar Bears here? Now everyone will come here saying what language is the best, and ofcourse it's always their own opinion, and there is no right answer... unless you say finnish.

the sound of nordic languages sometime is too much nasty or crisp, mediterranean languages like italian, spaniard and french are more harmonious.
i remember when i was a child, my grandfather and i watch lots of second world war films with german soldiers speaking in german, oh i was hurted and scared from the sound of that language. it's a child memory, but if you don't know what they're telling and you just listen the sound of the words, some languages can be a bit scary or funny. i think if a stranger listen two italian speaking together, he can think they're two mafiosi, cosa nostra, just for hearing some words he already listen on tv film about mafia!

I love this, "I'm not that great at speaking the england, so i'm going to teach a forum where 90% of the speakers are natively english, Italian, to save me effort."

Great way to beat around the bush..
Anyway, i've been learning Italian on and off for a few years. It's a beautiful language but i generally have no need for it, my work is influenced a lot by Italian art, architecture and the language in general though.

I'm embarrassed that I and most English people can only speak English fluently. Hopefully the internet will change this as even people who don't go abroad still come into contact with foreigners. If you can't speak to someone you look really stupid

two points:

TGC is an english company,so the forum is in english:this is a bit discriminatory and if it is right, TGC must sell product only in England. i was believing forum was international. you look so english, boy, and let me tell another thing, in England you drive on the wrong side of the road.

and second point, like OBese87 say, English users speak only one language, who is a foreigner here, at least two. Maybe it can be a good idea to learn a second language.

A forum needs a standard language so everyone can understand one another. As it so happens most people here are English speakers, the admins all speak English and presumably TGC sells most products to English speaking countries. The lesser of two evils in the case of TGC is that the minority of non English speakers have to learn English as the forum language which suits the most users (however unfortunate that is for you lot :/ ). There will always be winners or losers in this case, and people feeling left out because they can't speak the community language are going to be inevitable.

The same would be the case if TGC was an Italian company based in Milan or somewhere. The forum would probably have a lot of Italian users, moreso than Americans perhaps, and as a result in that situation we foreigners would have to learn Italian or leave. I'm not trying to say that the language spoken somewhere online and international should always be English. It should be whatever is most suitable; so long as everyone speaks the same language so it can be better understood by a larger number of people. Discrimination does not come into the equation.

That is a bit like saying all music which is spoken in English should be sold in English speaking countries only, for being 'discriminating'. Listen to any English speaking bands?

Haha. I was actually charged like $100 when ordering a FPSC to America for delivery.

I sadly actually have to agree here. As discriminating as this might seem, a forum needs ONE language to stick with. Otherwise it's like applesauce in a pinecone basket.

no it is not discriminating, how can it be?
I mean, if i write a book and i can't afford to translate it to another language is that discriminating?

If someone can't afford to translate a forum into 10 different languages is that discriminating?!

oh and if you want a thread to be in italian, you go ahead, i doubt the mods would stop you, same goes for any other language...

well, i'm not complaining about speak english, but i think if a company want to sell their programs all around the world, maybe it can be a good idea to provide support for each country or for the mosts.to sell their products without language translation force users to learn the original languages or leave.
Discrimination is not right word, i can't find the right word for this, maybe it can be "boastful" (google translation)

still with the money issue Ermes, if they are to translate it to that many languages... that will cost a fortune!

if they are to even translate it at all then German, Spanish and France is more than enough

the reason to why i brought up those three languages is because those are the three biggest languages aside from english (biggest = most teached in school and most countries in europe for example speak them) Italian is too small to be bothered to translate to, it would be like translating it to swedish, it wouldnt help much. I know that EAgames do translate games to swedish and italian and other languages but considering the size of that company it isnt weird.
