Actually, I've been golfing for about a year now, but only recently got serious about it. I've joined the high-school golf team, I practice diligently every weekday and usually play a round of 18 in the evenings when I can, and I've been sticking to this sort of routine for about 3-4 months now. I get to golf for free at the local golf courses, due to being on the team, as well, so it makes it a lot easier for me to play. Soon I'll be starting tournaments with other high-school teams, and I figure this will be good fun, too. Assuming there are cash prizes for placing, that is.

So, basically, I've been practicing and playing golf a whole lot lately, and I'm honestly getting better. I can play consistently now, hitting in the mid-80's on average, so I'm happy with that.

Anybody else play? How's your game?

My long game and putting are really good, I will screw up an iron shot 50% of the time though. I have not played in 2 years but I was consistently between 2 under and 3 over. Par 3's are my pitfall and 5's are my bread and butter.

stopped playing because only one of my friends played and he gave up after spending almost $1700 on clubs (compared to me who bought 2 drivers a 3 and 7 iron and a sw for $1 each at the flea market ,a putter for $5 at building 19, a $2 bag, and used banged up balls for $2 a dozen) and still losing all the time

I never really got a chance to play golf. But $1700? Makes me never want to try.

The only type of golf I ever had a chance of playing was Mini Golf, which was fun, with the twirls and twists and rollercoasters the little ball flys into

But real golf makes me feel if I ever play it, I will instantly become British and start drinking tea

Anyhow, good luck with the team, and if anybody ever gets close to beating you, take your club and beat him

I play, though my game is completly random, there isnt a pattern its just good sometimes or bad sometimes.

I gave with the school golf team though, I hate following all the specific rules.

Yes, I made a topic. Party Time!

But, yeah, I loves me a game of mini-golf. Unfortunately, the only mini-golf course around me is covered in weeds and sand. It's been unusable and out of business for about 5 years now, along with the go-kart track next to it.

But yeah, $1700 for a set of new clubs isn't that out-of-the-ordinary. Sure, it might seem crazy for someone not familiar with golf, but people will do nearly anything to improve their game. I, myself, have a $250 Driver (most expensive club). And guess what? I rarely hit it. I tend to open the club face and hit slices with it. I'll only use it if I start off the day hitting hooks with my normal driver. It balances it out and I can hit a mean drive with good accuracy.

@Hobgoblin Lord
Oddly enough, the only part of golf I've really excelled at faster was chipping, pitching, flopping, and the like. If I find myself about 40 yards out, I'll grab a sand wedge, swing with about half power, and stick the green within a few yards of the hole 90% of the time. I'll only score really good if my driving and putting are up to par that day.

@Zeus
Yup, and it only took you two days to notice. Was that how long it took you to prepare my cake brethren for dessert?

But, anyways, I didn't realize you golfed. We have to get together sometime and play. Maybe team scramble or something, You and your Dad Vs. Dad and I.

I'll be sure to hit them a few times if it comes down to it.

The cake is so delicious it took two days to make, plus I had to ship it from Mount Olympus.
