Ok,the other thread is getting a wee bit bulky, so a fresh start is due, and taking into account the branding issue, this will be totally unofficial.

The idea
To play multiple games and host a few tournaments with the TGC members

What we will need
Steam
A Voice chat service such as Skype, Ventrilo, Teamspeak

The Games - Not definite, just some ideas, please post your favorites!

Counter-Strike : Source
Team Fortress 2
Killing Floor
Battlefield 2
Garry's Mod

Please not i am listing these games as they are cheap for anyone to buy that does not own the game.

The main issue right now is that Valve games run on dedicated servers, meaning that we would either

A) Donate money to rent a server
B) Let me buy a server
C) Use a VPN like hamachi, however we would need a good host

These guys are really good:

http://www.ukgame.com/gaming_servers/clan_servers.html

I used their service to make a GMod server a few months back, so me and my mates could play.

They have all of the popular mods ready to install, and have a SVN service too.

why not something free that we all can play, even away from home like urban terror or soldier front?

I can provide a TF2 game server for £4 per week with 32 slots if you are interested, it will be running on one of my Dell servers in the UK.

If you don't want to run TF2 on the server i may be able to change to another game depending on which one it is.

For obvious reasons this can't be discussed here so pop an email my way if your interested if not the offer is out there for any others that may be interested.

You cannot hope to run a game server on a home PC, well not with over 8 players anyway the speeds would be unbearable. Public networks just don't have the speed required to run a Game server and ISP often limit your usage if they find massive amounts of data transfer such as that a game server would produce.

But feel free to try i know i tried a while back with a TF2 server and it managed 9 players before the slowdowns stopped the server responding at normal speed. If it could be done that way i would do it as server are really expensive to run.

Left for Dead 2 is a must. If it's there, I might stick around. If it's not, then no thanks.

@Nilloc

What is the IP of your server i have a tool that will give detailed server information and will tell me how many players can connect without slowdowns and what add-ons you may be running. I can then send the results.

I can host a Trackmania United or Nations server. It can handle up to 16 people atleast. It is not Steam but it works great. I will be playing on Trackmania,CSS,TF2,GMod and Killing Floor

I second this. And, also, I will spank all your behinds in Urban Terror. Well, maybe... I haven't yet played the game with my ping in the thousands.

I run a game hosting company and can help if you are looking for servers. We could possibly sponsor this, if you are running the servers off peak or offer a very affordable rate.

If your looking for a free game, warsow and its cross platform

Dammit! Wish I could join but my PC isn't connected to internet. Not to mention I'm currently stuck with an TNT2...
Other than that, I'd suggest any of the UT games. And maybe Jedi Outcast/Jedi Academy?

Well, if there is no L4D2, I think I'll just go with TF2. It's an awesome game too.

Thanks for the ideas, only problem with L4D2 is that it is a bit pricey.

Mics are high encouraged, games are so much fun when everyone is chatting at the same time.

Ok so im in talks with a provider right now, and i will most likely be hiring a server for many valve games such as CSS, so once thats sorted, i can get a date ready for this event.

I will also ask if people would consider downloading either Combat Arms, or AVA as a free alternative for anyone without any of the supported games.
