Like the mobs you see in New York or something. I looked around the Internet and all I could find was something about WoW and the facebook game Mob Wars.

So far on my iMobsters game, I have these weapons:

Metal Pipe
Machete
Revolver
9mm Pistol
Pump Shotgun
Piano Wire
Molotov Cocktail
Uzi
Tommy Gun
AK-47
HK PSG1 Sniper Rifle
Flamethrower
Raging Bull .454
Chain Gun

I think realistically, the mob would use the best weapons it could get its hands on. You could also probably put some baseball bats in there. Heck, you might as well throw in a couple pens while you are at it.

a tommy gun? modern day? really? also, homemade explosives, they use a lot of that. Play GTA4 you will find the answer to your question there it takes place in 2007 so that should be modern enough

I think a lot depends on the size, power, and finances the mob has. Also, depends on what they can steal.

But why not a tommy gun? It might not be the best weapon of all time, but I know if I was in a mob I would have 1 or 2 just so that I could fit the stereotype.

true tommy guns were used by the mob in the 20s-30s but i think it would be hard to get a workig tommy gun today, Besides, where would they get ammo for it? Maybe if some lower budget mob manages to steal it from somwwhere and mod it to use different ammo thats easier to find. I do think it would be cool to have some mob boss who has an old tommy gun that he modded

I imagine AKs, they're the most common assault rifle on the planet - and very dependable. Knockoff outdated military rifles bought off the black market, hunting rifles, and a decnet supply of melee...

I would guess norinco chinese AK47s and other cheap guns. you only need to fire once to kill. maybe an assortment of legal pistols like .38s or .45s

AK's don't really require maintenance, and are very durable and incredibly cheap. Israeli Galils, Chinese Type-56s, and AKMs could be used by people who want a cheap, reliable gun that looks scary.

Because most of the time, the guns are purely for pointing at bank tellers, securicor drivers, etc to keep them scared, they'll rarely run in guns blazing...

speaking of gangs, i just finished playing GTA lost and the damned, surprised it was so short, took me a few hours to somplete, but the lost (a raggedy bike gang) has some pretty serios hardware, like RPGs fully automatic pistolsand the shotgun mashine gun (forgot what it was called)

pretty much the same as 50 years ago: the best and cheapest weapons out there, and the easiest to get ahold of, like someone said: AK-47 is a good choice, since it is cheap, easy to get ahold of and good. Just basicly go to any webbsite selling guns, check the prizes and pick basicly anything cheap and decent, and bam you got a typical mob weapon.

Modern British 'Gang' weapons/tools, absolutely accurate, init meight.

- Shivs (Screwdrivers, hand-made knives, small durable knives)
--LOCATED: Usually located in their underpants

- Bat's (Planks of wood, cheap baseball bats, more plank's of wood, metal bar's that came off a fence, or a big spikey thing that they cannot carry)
-- LOCATED: On the floor, they're too heavy to be carried.
