Does anyone know if it is worth buying? The main thing for me is I'm going to an airsoft tournament in the next few weeks and I'll be up against others with guns ranging from 200 fps to 500 fps . I need to know whether it will provide any protection. And moving onto the gun. Is it any good? How well does it hold it's charge, how reliable is it, etc... Like I said, this tournament is within the next few weeks, so Help would be nice

Just about any $30 tact vest will work fine in an Airsoft skirmish when it comes to deflecting BBs. Airsoft BBs just don't have any weight behind their velocity to deliver a sting through a vest. At 200FPS, you won't feel anything on your body behind your gear. At 500FPS, you might feel a slight tap, but when I used to go to skirmishes three or four years ago, I never felt a hit behind my loadout.

Now, if you get hit on bare-skin from a moderate range (or clothed-skin, for that matter), it's going to sting, and it may leave a welt, but still; there's no permanant damage to be done. The main things to protect in a skirmish are your eyes and your teeth--the two things that will not heal if they take a hit. And if you want to avoid a bad day, it would probably be best to cover your entire face with a mask. I never used full face mask when I used to play, and I've been hit in the cheeks, the lips, the chin, etc; and it doesn't feel too good. But, thankfully, I still have both of my eyes, and all of my teeth

Check here if you need encouragement to use the proper safety gear.
