I'm starting this thread off with a Gallardo model, wich is sort of an experiment with seams in blender. And so far it's going great, so I thought it was time to share it. This is the result of about 8 hours modeling.

Side note: The renders are just to make things look smooth and pretty, not to make it look like actual car paint.

This is the old back side, wich I wasn't satisfied with, so I deleted it.

Here's the current WIP back.

Here's my (simple) render setup, which I've uploaded it to show you that my camera is parented to an empty mesh (the pink dot), this way it has a focus point, it is less likely to rotate the wrong way, it can be zoomed by scaling the empty mesh and I can make a turntable render when it's finished. You should try it.

HoG: 0.360
HoB: 0.462

AmbR: 0.294

AmbB: 0.462

Ambient Occlusion:
Samples: 10
(I thought I had more settings here...)

Lamp-Sun:

RayShadow:
SoftSize : 2

Edit:
Heres the side panel done. This one was a real pain, because I can't make out the shape of the vent on the blueprint so I had to model it out of thin air using a huge load of reference pictures.

Well only if I can find enough good reference photo's, otherwise I'll make the interior black like in the need for speed games.

here's the new backside done.

Here's the finished engine cover which look surprisingly sexy for the amount of work put into it.

And finally some detail work that didn't get saved nor backed up. Apparently someone at blender thought it was a good idea to let the program shut down without a save confirmation. If anyone knows that guy's name please tell me so that I can kill him.

Latest updates. I've been testing a skybox and reflectivity and everything, but that didn't work at all. Soooo, back to geometry.

I'm not completely satisfied with the new seam, as you can see here the two panels are very tight together.

Here's the first honeycomb grill, quite happy with it. You may count it, it matches the real thing.

This one has been done by hand, since the Shear command wasn't enough. Amazed by the amount of work put in to this? You should be.

I'm redoing this, because the top edge should be running straight with the front of the bumper. Plus there should be a slight vertical curve in the geometry.
