Our focus is very much on suring up the support for X, 3DS and the MDL/2/3 formats. At the moment they are not 100% and we want them to be. After that, we have our eyes on supporting the main formats from Lightwave and Maya, as these are very popular and should be directly importable. If we cannot import directly, we will work on exporters for the tools. All this will be looked at next year when current stability issues have been addressed.

Right, there are enough converters to .X or .3DS from nearly any other 3d format. Bugfixing is mora important at this time (And some people still want a universal usable file requester usable from Dark Basic Pro).

Yes all the above is true. Though I should have said that different file formats have different file storage requirements. So wouldn't a developer want to use a smaller file so it would run faster etc ?

there is always FMT Model, the dba importer/export for it is around here somewhere - i'm sure if you fancy a complete change can alway use that ... pretty compact format.

Should be finishing up with an import/export for milkshape soon actually so, probably a good time to release new import/export dba for DarkBasic Enhanced - hope to work on a DLL plugin function for Pro in a month or so's time.

Might be the perfect solution for those who want a small Skeleton Based format
