Well, for some reason steam crashes...a lot not sure what to do about that but i just need it for the source SDK, anyways also, does anyone know if the game institute is a scam? cause when i looked on google for it, i found a search entry that was "game institute scam" and i was going to try to study from there but i want to know if it is legit and that person only got pissed off at the site or if that article is true. (I haven't read the article yet, I wanted to check with u guys first.

I doubt it ill be a complete scam, but courses like this, no matter what topic they're on, tend to be pretty useless. Even if you do these courses, you'll probably be unlikely to find somebody who will employ you.

This depends though on how up-to-date what they teach is, an employer will want somebody with experience of the kind of technology they're using

Personally, I think with there being a lot of these learn to be a game creator courses around, competition will be tight for jobs, and companies may just choose to employ elsewhere

I have gone through some of the game institute courses, and found them to be pretty good in my opinion. The teachers have been quick at giving responses to questions. But as Ocho Geek said, it won't help if you want to get a job in the industry as a credential. For me it was something I wanted to do on the side, for my own hobby projects, and it was good for that.

You're probably better off doing it the other way around.

College is very expensive. You may not finish. Possibly best to get a computer science degree, to give you a solid footing.
