Guys like you shouldnt stick to FPSC

I do some level design with UDK as well, but yes, I know that as well

@That Guy John, why isn't it working? Everything is fine for me.

Ok, I must say that what you put into that game was absolutely terrifying! I just wanted to get out of.......whatever I was in. The problem was, I couldn't find my way through the level for a while and wished that the player was.....faster to say the least. The sounds were really good, but I only had 1 clip for the assault rifle therefore making it frustrating to fight. The most terrifying thing however, was the totally black screen when the character got hit, I was just...whoa, fire in random directions aimlessly until enemy is killed! that felt kinda real as a person flinches when hit. The problem is, I just died too many times to want to walk through the level again and get to where I was because of the VERY slow player. bottom line, I loved it, especially the graphics! I can tell you put a lot of effort into that production and I congratulate you.

@tecbug, sorry mate, not real sure what's wrong

@2 Rogues, thanks for the feedback. I originally gave the player 2 clips but I found that it made the level too easy. It is actually possible to play through the level with the AR only, just make sure you hit 'em straight on. Also, I've cranked the player speed up. I also found it irritating to have to restart over and over and crawl back to where you were. The reason I slowed the player down was just to add to gameplay. Thanks, your advice is really helping

And yes. It's free

I've emailed KeithC regarding Best of the Best, since Thraxas won't be able to take over for a while. Wish me the best

I think that this game truly shows that a fps creator game can look awesome if you use alot of time on it and custom media by one self or from others.

only using the media that comes with the editor is not going to produse such a great game like this.

I would buy it

Well I finally found some time to download a game off the showcase section and heres my short review of this one :

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Menus & Loading screens - 7/10
I really liked the loader and the fact that it has an options screen.A custom icon could have been added, but that's just me nit-picking.
The menu screen was a bit boring , but not necessarily bad.The loading screenshot and bar we're very different in style and I don't really like glossy stuff. My other issue was the low-resolution of the loading screen image, however this is not a big issue.

The loading music was really nice. For some reason it gave me a dubstep/horror vibe.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Level Design (Graphics) - 9/10
This is the part I really loved.Very grungy, outstanding placement of entities! The only reason I give it 9 out of 10 is due to a few inconsistencies between textures.
The dirt HUD was also a nice touch.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Game Mechanics - 4/10
I was expecting the enemies to be a bit more challenging and not pop up from behind when you take a weapon. This sort of trick starts to get old.A lot more could have been done to make them more interesting - simple idea (breakable wall , one of the zombies of whatever comes out from it and starts to attack the player , the player has to press a few button to escape the enemy's clutches and then finish him off as he wishes.).I understand it's a demo, but I'd rather do without the enemies so soon in the game.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

As far as bugs go,2 of the enemies appeared black. One was the Lobotomy one I think.

A little detail I noticed was the shattered glass on the rifle sights.Very nice!

Overall it's a very nice demo.Short, but enjoyable. With a little scripting magic it could easily get BOTB in it's next release.

Yes, that's a shader compatibility problem of some sort - just turn off shaders in the Launcher to fix this

Thanks for the detailed review, I was really worried about the gameplay, I knew it would give me a few negatives - at least I now know how to improve! Thanks gencheff

P.S.

I've already emailed KeithC about Outpost November as a BotB entry - yet after not replying, then suddenly replying, he has not replied/made up his mind for quite a long time :/
