I made a Youtube video. Do you think it might be helpful to some of the newcomers to the forum? Here is the link:

absolutely. i think it's great that it's FROM a relative newcomer TO a newcomer. and, i like the fact that you're a "regular person" instead of a paid voice actor.

i suggest that you continue in this vein by preparing examples of what you've been able to accomplish as a newcomer and how you went about doing so. ie, thought processes, resources you've discovered, and how you went about coding and putting the pieces together.

thanks for sharing

I agree. While it isn't top of the notch it is casual and more welcoming. I certainly wish I had it a few months ago.

I think it works well as an introduction, like maybe the sort of thing people would watch when deciding whether or not to even start developing.
For absolute beginners, it must be a pretty daunting prospect, your video illustrates how easy it is to get started, and might well encourage people to do so. I think a lot of people have ideas for games, and are simply too daunted to get started, I think it answers a lot of questions people will have.

Personally I think you have the perfect accent for that video too, you sound just like an average Joe - I've seen some videos on youtube where the narrator tries to sound too smart, arrogance leaks through, and before you know it the video is ruined and nobodies watching. Better to sound clear and honest with these things.
