custom built computers are the best.

build yourself one with modern parts, hopefully some nice "futureproof" parts too.

Alternatively you could replace CoZ's mobo with an nForce 980a and the GPU with a GeForce GTX 460 Overclocked (£173)

I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

I would go with the set-up Coz suggested or close to it. Nice setup and it will easily keep you going for a good few years worth the price its about what it took to build mine a year ago (although i'm rubbish with numbers and wouldn't remember the amounts accurately if my life depended on it) and i can run all the latest games and will be able to for a long time to come.

Here is a setup I have been messing abotu with lately:

Motherboard - Some Asus one :p http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Asus-M4N75TD-NF-750a-SLI-AM3-PCI-E-20-%28x16%29-DDR3-1066-1333-2200%28OC%29-SATA-3Gb-s-RAID-ATX

Processor - AMD Phenom x6 2.8 ghz http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/AMD-Phenom-II-X6-1055T-Thuban-Sok-AM3-28GHz-9MB-Total-Cache-125W-Retail

Ram - 4 gig corsair DDR3 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/4GB-%282x2GB%29-Corsair-DDR3-PC3-10666-%281333%29-Non-ECC-Unbuffered-CAS-9-9-9-24-150V

HDD - 640 gig Western Digital Cavalier Black http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/640GB-Western-Digital-WD6402AAEX-Caviar-Black-SATA-6Gb-s-7200rpm-64MB-Cache

GPU - 1 gig Palit GTX 460 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/1GB-Palit-GTX-460-Sonic-3600MHz-GDDR5-GPU-700MHz-Shader-1400MHz-336Cores-DVI-D-Sub-HDMI

PSU - 650w Corsair http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/650W-Corsair-CMPSU-650TX-SLi-XfireSingle-12V-Rail-80plus-Efficient-120mm-Quiet-Fan-ATX12V-v22

Case - Some Alienware replica http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/CiT-1002-Black-Mid-Tower-Gaming-Case-w-o-PSU

In total this build comes to £621, I have also made sure the motherboard supports SLI so when the graphics start to fall behind you can slot another 460 in there. Not sure all parts are compatible but they are to my knowledge

Replace that hard drive with this.

And that case looks terrible. The build quality is questionable and it looks like it wouldn't be cool at all. It has bad reviews, and from what I hear, CiT are crap at anything they do anyway. How about this one?

@Aagreen, thanks for the suggestion!, the hard drive i will definatly consider. As for the case, this system is actuayll for my brother, he would be paying me to build it, and he loves alienware, so when i show him an alienware replica, he just has to have it

Your brother may not be too pleased when his shiny new computer overheats and goes *pop*.

No problem, glad to have helped though make sure all parts are compatible, ive checked but its allways best to make sure. Also i highly suggest getting the HDD Aaagreen suggested, despite being cheaper its also larger and the same speed.

Edit @Aaagreen, he probably wont be, but he is stubborn, i guess i'll tell him that they have sold out or something

Where expensive?

Anyway, they're cheap if you look in the right place. Say, £50 maybe?
