I don't have much to update on right now. I do, but it's not ready to be shown yet. I thought I might let you all read the first draft of the game script. Enjoy and let me know what you think.

EDIT: SCript removed as the deadline to read the teaser is gone, but I will leave a short piece of it for you all.

Quote: "
EDWARD
“ How do you know my name? Why
don’t you come out of the shadows
and show me your face? “
MAX
“ Very well, There. “
(Max walks out of the shadows)
EDWARD
“ Remove your hood. “
MAX
“ Paranoid much? “
(Max removes his hood to reveal his face.)
EDWARD
“ (Gasp) Max!? “
MAX
“ Yes Ed, it’s your brother. I
thought you might find me here. “
EDWARD
“ How? Why? What is this thing? “
MAX
“ Always the cop. Always asking
questions. “
EDWARD
“ Are you going to answer me or
monologue me to death? “
MAX
“ Yes, what you see in front of you
is a spacial fracture. I have
created this one to study and map
out it’s exit. “
EDWARD
“ What for? “
MAX
“ By creating this small fracture
and studying it, I will make it
possible for people to go to
countless places in the universe in
a blink of an eye. ""

This is just the first draft to tease all of you. I really like writing stories. Out of the people that I sent this script to only one replied to it. Wetham hasn't even commented on it. I think he is to busy playing cod.

Anyways enjoy it while it last. Tomorrow I am removing it. If I get no comments on it, then I have failed to excite the players and I need to rewrite it. That is my main purpose for putting it on here.

Do read it and let me know if it is what you have been waiting for or is it an epic fail.

Despite what I said, I read it (lol). I like what you have so far, but some of the lines dont need to be in there. If you could keep it up for atleast 2 more days, I could tell you which ones. I cant do it now though, as Im on my iPod Touch...

The script isn't bad so far. One thing I'd suggest is maybe missing out the scene where Edward wakes up, tells his brother about the dream and is then offered the job on the Kal-Manora. Instead, I'd have Edward waking up ON the Kal-Manora, perhaps to the sound of the captain’s voice calling him over the speaker system. The explanation of how the player got there would be covered in snippets of dialogue you have with the crew, for example:

Quote: "
Captain: "15 minutes late, Edward. When your brother sent you up here I wasn't expecting a slacker and yet this is the second time you've kept me waiting. You're head of security now, Edward - you are a highly regarded officer and I expect you to be punctual whenever I send for you..." blah blah blah"

As a player of the first game, I'd also rather not see how Edward ends up on the Kal-Manora. I'd rather not even see what the Kal-Manora looks like from the outside until the end of the level. Keeping this sort of thing a mystery to the player would provide a good incentive to keep playing.

Also, If Edward is going to talk to Max about the dream, saying...

Quote: "Funny, I
just had a dream where you pushed
me into a spacial fracture or
something like that."

... is a little too long-winded and specific. Instead, I'd replace it with something a little more vague, like:

Quote: "Edward: Funny... I've just had the weirdest dream about you.

Max: (Chuckles) Really? Well you can tell me all about it over lunch in a few hours. "

This was Wetham's idea way before I even scripted it. The game was to start in the colony and end after going through the fracture. This also will tie my game with Kravenwolf's game. Kraven and I have talked about how the two need to tie together and have made something work.Wetham wanted to expand the game, not leave it as just one level.

Now for those of you that just want that one level, I am making just that. I am making what I called classic for those of you that don't want an expansion of the game. This has already been built and the load time is about 5 mins.

Thanks for the C&C.

Just incase you misunderstood me, I wasn't saying that I didn't think the new levels were necessary and that I only wanted the Kal-Manora level. On the contrary, I look forward to playing the new levels. I was refering to the video clip between levels 2 and 3 where you show Edward getting the security job and boarding the Kal-Manora. I was just saying that in my opinion, for the sake of immersion and atmosphere, it was mabye a little unnecessary.

I have had a few send me some nice little emails about what they think of my videos showing some of the shader work. Mostly they are choppy, so I have made a new video combining both videos into one, but I just used a new capture program and sony vegas to put it together. Enjoy!!

The attention to detail is outstanding... I am very impressed by your level design.

BTW: I didn't read the script. Don't want to spoil a surprise.

Thanks for your support.

An update for you all. In the colony I wanted something new to both fpsc and BLR world, so I created a character I think will add some fun to it. I called it the orchid. Enjoy!

Thanks! Here is the textured version one of the orchid. Texture using a t-rex image. The finished version will be done in photoshop. I would do a finished texture in blender, but my wacom is broken and I have yet to get another. Just picky.

This is a screenie from concept to textured. Enjoy! Now for the animations.

Reminds me of Screechers (or whatever they were) from Tremors 2... but not at all as closely as the morrowing creatures...

I was watching Jurassic park and that was what inspired the model. I also was wanting to see if I had it in me to create something from scratch.

Thanks! Think kotor as for how the orchid will be used. Basically I want him to just walk around and do his thing, but if the player shoots him or gets around him while he is doing his thing, he attacks. One bite and it's over.

Wow, long trip, but it is still in the works. I have written a script and drawn out alot of levels, characters and many other stuff. Most of my games are still in the works, but just slowed until I get the right update or knowledge that I want.

It's been awhile since I have had the time to make and update on this. Last week Cp sent me the finished ironode and it is sweet!! In the tradition of the rest of my model, I am giving you all a 3d look at the weapon. I still have the animations to do on it, but it will be done soon. Many thanks to my buddy Cp!!

Enjoy!

help me please. I have a new laptop with windows 7. I downloaded the original game from the website, run it and I can see the progress bar loading along hearing the intro from "Maximilian", but then, the game just freezes, it stops running and I have to quit it through the task manager. What are the system requirements? what am I doing wrong? It's good that the game's being updated.

The original Beyond Life was made in fpsc version 1 and so if you are using win7, the requirements you already have. The load time on Beyond Life was a long one, but it was worth it. I have seen the load time go from 15 mins all the way up to 2 hours, so just let it run and you will get to play. IT takes time to play, you just have to wait a very long time.

If the task manager says that fpsc game has stopped responding, then you may need to check your setting for running an xp game. Try running it as admin and see if that helps.

I do not have win7, so I really cannot say why it is not working for you. Maybe someone that has win7 on here can tell you how to make it work for you, but off post by email.
