Quote: "i'd probably sell it"

How would it be morally right to sell it?

To make a profit on something you won which was donated for a good cause just sounds like a dick move in my opinion.
It would be a huge middle finger to the people who built the thing and for the people who spent their time organising the contest.

I'm getting pretty sick of it too. Wish all the fanboy trolls on the internet would grow up already, stop hating etc...

But one topic, it looks pretty damn good. Love the touch swipe thing (saw a video of it). Grats on the epic win!

Well, the builder might be pleased to know the console is going off to someone who would enjoy it. It isn't uncommon for things given away free at conventions to become the nerdgasm of a hardcore geek willing to pay stupid amounts of money to give the item the respect it deserves.

I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

But not when its donated for a good cause. The only moral thing to do, would be to sell it on, get your $10 back and donate the rest to the same charity.
If you really didn't want the mod, or you knew you had no space for it, you just wouldn't enter. Either that, or donate some money to the charity and ask them not to put your name down in the raffle.

Only the truly sick minded make a profit from charity.

Actually come to think of it, would it be even moral to claim the $10 you previously donated? Probably not.

I'm pretty sure I saw a video of it where one of the makers was driving it around, unless that was before it was finished?
Maybe The Jeku can confirm.

Yes, I won't be selling this thing for profit. There are 3 things which I may do:

1.) Keep it
2.) Give it to my brother-in-law when he's back from Afghanistan serving in the Canadian military
3.) Sell it and donate the money back to the organization

Right now I'm thinking #1 because I just got it yesterday!

They had to completely remove the RC aspects of the car, because the 360 parts are crammed pretty tight inside.

Here's some pics I've uploaded from receiving it yesterday. There's no 'action' pics yet... those will come soon:

I'd give half of the money to the Teenage Cancer Trust. Someone has to fund our Xbox 360s, Wiis and en-suite bathrooms.

Well, I'd rather stay in this hospital bed all day on this laptop than play a Wii, but it's nice to be 5 metres away from a crap.

How do you know I wasn't referring to the 360 when I said "crap"?

Nah, that's actually 15 seconds walk down the corridor. It's a very big, brand new ward. Every room has a wall-mounted TV comparable to the one in my living room, and a DVD player. The wifi is also about 5x faster than my broadband at home, which is depressing.

Anyway Jeku, I hope you have fun with your X-Hummer. Whether you spend time with it staring mindlessly as a pretty decoration or actually playing is irrelevant.

i read that as "the wifey is 5x faster..." too much MTV for me, i guess.

meanwhile, Aaagreen, it's apparent you're in the hospital, presumably with cancer, and dealing with some tough stuff right now but that doesn't give you the right to bash about on the forums here, or anywhere, and make yourself a nuisance. so, get it together and play nice. i'd hate to see you kicked from the playground, here.

/on topic: congratz, jeku. it's a nice prize and it's yours. do whatever the heck you want with it!

Here's the interview I did at PAX with the Radioactive Nerd guys after winning the Hummer. I look like a vampire because of the lighting... awesome.

Cool. Don't worry, you don't look like a vampire, you look like Edward Cullen, if that makes you feel any better.

jeku's not exactly camera shy (tho the interview didn't necessarily depict that fact); his mug's all over the forums. some might say in a "too much" kinda way

@jeku,
what a nerd! and, i mean that in a good way also, nice touch in flashing the peace sign at the end; was very appropriate given the context and i wonder if it was premeditated or off the cuff?

congratz, again.

I'm so used to taking pictures with Asians, and they all seem to flash the peace sign, so it wasn't context based (although it could be taken that way!). It was totally off the cuff

My Karate Instructor compared me to Wayne Rooney, I would have hit him if he wasn't a 5th dan. So, yes, it could be worse.

I'd rather be compared to a fake vampire than a monkey, this is true.

It might explain why I've hit on 19 different guys in the past year.

Most people come to the conclusion I'm gay sooner or later. It'd be wrong of me to correct them too...unless they come onto me.
