I found a 1GB ram stick.... and since I have a laptop what Can I do with it? Sell it, trade it to someone?

It's always handy to have RAM sticks around in a cupboard. I think I still have some old DDR ram mixed with 4 or 5 512mb DDR2.


I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

Old memory sticks/modules can be donated to schools and other places, or even traded in for different/newer memory. A Google search will provide links to some places of interest.

On a related note, I've been trying to work out the details of connecting external memory directly to the cerebral cortex as a kind of "human memory upgrade". If I succeed, I may find a viable workaround to Alzheimers, where everyday memory which begins to fail with age can be easily stored and instantly accessed.

you always think stuff is useless untill something comes up and you badly need some ram, guess what you have some spare ram. Personally it bothers me when i have computer parts lying around not doing anything (like being a working computer). so whenever i have enough parts i will always buid a computer out of them no matter how crappy it is. at least its a working computer

well i have 3 motherboards and a 4th server board with dual xeons (one is missing), 1.5 gigs of DDR1, 4 dvd burners, 2 power supplies, a huge cooler master heatsink and a few smaller ones. I have enough parts to build 3 computers right now but i have only one case. I had even more parts some time ago but i already built about 3 computers out of them I HAVE TOO MANY COMPUTERS! i dont know what i should do with them. i dont want to sell em because i am hoping that some day i will meet the girl of my dreams who will walk into my room and see all the computers in my room and instantly ask me to marry her

edit i got it, i will build wallmounts for the computers i dont have cases for, just drill the motherboard and PSU to the wall and use them to test parts.
