Hello to those of you who remember me, and to those of you who don't (lucky you)

I have returned ... sort of. I had to nip away from the forums and the TGC community in mid 2007 as I was at that time busy leaving my employer of 8 years to become a partner of a different firm. Since then half of us left that firm and founded our own firm. So I've become an entrepreneur and have my surname in the firm's name. This is a very peculiar but rather fun experience.

Also, to add to life's rich tapestry, earlier this year I got married.

Anyway, given everything I learnt about game coding from 2003 to 2007, I've decided to move away from DBPro and am instead using the GDK with VS 2008. My first project will be a relatively self contained one. No more long rambling 20,000+ line projects for me!

Cheers

Philip

I suppose they'll be at least 40,000 lines now.

I always thought C++ programs were 20,000 lines long just to get a rotating cube on the screen. (Oh dear, I shouldn't have said that - this thread will now become a "which is the best language to use" thread. Sorry. )

Philip! I was wondering where you disappeared to!

Life seems exciting for you, but I guess you figured out the single inescapable fundamental fact of the universe: nothing is more exciting than the TGC forums.

Welcome back.

From scratch, hellz ya. with Directx or opengl... yeah pretty much. DarkGDK handles all that window creation and other headache stuff on its own tho, so short applications aren't rare.

You know full well that I am still waiting for Entropy!

Congratulations on all your achievements, not least on convincing your fiancee that you are indeed human.

The forum is a much funnier place to reside as a result of this great event.

I'm a lot more serious these days.

I have to be. I actually employ people.

Surely this newfound seriousness is just a ruse though ?
