With the recent overflow of these threads,it would be cool to have a dedicated thread.

So first question,I am buying a new computer, tell me what you guys think.

ASUS M4A78LT-M motherboard
AMD Athlon II X3 435 (mobo supports core unlocking so I'll have a quad)
Gainward Geforce GTS 450 1GB (jackpot, early release here)
Mushkin "Black Frostbyte" KIT,4GB 1600mhz
LC Power Black Edition 550w

All totals out at 400 euros.

Whats a good upgrade to max out my old lga 775 system?

775 has already said goodbye,1156 is also dying, socket 1155 comming out at the end of the year. If I would go for Intel,I would wait for the new socket and Sandy Bridge series.

I tried making one of these threads a while ago, it wasn't as prominent as I thought it would be. Oh well, hopefully this one will be more sucessful.
What monitor are you thinking of for the PC? 1080p ones are actually starting to go down in price.

I just bought this cooler for my upcomming rig,it's epic.

AutoBot: My LCD is 1280x1024 which is completely enough for me. It will be kinda a medium gamer rig.

that 775 intel plastic button things drives me nuts, it can also be a real problem in some cases. the ones with backplate mount can be a pain to install as you have to take out the motherboard and screw the back plate on, but its more practical and stable. I got the zalman 9300 for my rig (its my second one) the reason i got this is because my cases had problems with the size, and my socket was too close to the PSU so i had to get a smaller zalman 9300, even a 9500 wouldnt fit, i do however have a zalman 9700 in my other rig that has the case for it. Just 2 months ago the 9300 was easy to find but they dont make it any more so it was hard for me to find a new one for my second PC because they stopped making it.

best heatsink that takes up little room
also it has amd and intel support, The zalman 9000 series is generally awesome and universal
