Hey all,

I thought it would be fun to put a song you're ashamed to like. We're all friends here, right? Bonus points for closet Bieber fans.

Please don't turn this into a "favourite music" thread as there are already plenty of them here.

I'll start off with:

Oh! by Girls Generation
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGbwL8kSpEk

The song is quite catchy, and the Korean girls are cute It has videogamey sounds and that catchy pop feel. I can put this on repeat while I'm at work hahaha. The ending of the video is really weird too.

That is pretty shameful...lol

I mainly listen to lots of old rock \ metal, but i quite like listening to some opera and things like Russell Watson, i know, pretty sad, I blame it on the fact that i use to be a choir boy at Manchester Cathedral.

Might not sound bad, but i now live around idiots that go out raving every night and have a less than average intelligence so its very odd round here, (Please dont tell them i said that, lol).

Rick Astley's 'Never Gonna Give You Up'. It's catchy, and I catch myself humming it every now and again, so obviously I must think it's an alright song.

There, now please excuse me, for I must break my fingers for typing such an awful composition of words.

I'm not really ashamed of liking these bands, however they usually have bad reputations among metal fans.

Asia
Creed
Electric Light Orchestra
Europe
Stevie Nicks
INXS
Lita Ford
Loverboy
Phish
Styx
Sweet

If you listened to all of those, have some Testament to make up for it.

song was experienced and is giving honest thought, witch I dough
Selena did anything other then sing for this video, just as Justen Fiber dose for his music/videos.

Whats wrong with ELO? I wasn't aware it was a shameful band. And I have INXS greatest hits thank you very much!

Quote: "Nothing Else Matters - Metallica"

The fact you think that's shameful to admit deserves a beating!

Guess I'll take the real plunge into shame and admit I like Gaga despite hating most hiphop crap. But I've noticed the only people I know that listen to her are people who wouldn't normally listen to that style of music, while those that do do not like her.

Taylor Swift. Pretty much all of her songs. But really.
I also like listening to Queen, preferably Don't Stop Me Now, and We Will Rock You, it might not seem really shameful, but many people who found out asked me if I was homosexual for listening to their music.

Rest in peace Heltor. God bless you.

Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack. It's amazing, but nothing I'd listen to with other people around. I already have enough people suspecting me of being gay, I don't want to take it too far...then again, I could dress in drag for Halloween this year. Hmm...that's a thought.

Favourite Track:

Sweet Transvestite (would have video, but internet is going very slow)

[EDIT]

Creed as well. I'm the last person you'd expect to be listening to Christian Rock, though it's hardly a secret, at least to those who lived with me a year ago - I went through a Creed phase and blasted it out of my stereo. Most people think I'm going to hell, so Creed is my only salvation.

As I said when I first posted the list, they are not shameful, it is all depending on the demographic. I have albums from everyone on the list. (I actually only went through my album collection and picked out bands, there are most likely other shameful bands, but none that I own any material from.)

well said... I think I like it because of the old European masks and dress up witch makes me like the crazy a$$ dress up she has in her videos helps me to look past that and listen to her music... i'm a big fan of Back and Mozart... her ways reminds me of there era in time.

Gay Bar by Electric Six

Nothing wrong with this song, its a good song, funny video, but i cant play it without being asked the question "are you ..." which gets annoying after a while, so i wouldn't play this when i have people over or tell them i think its a good song.

also High Voltage by Electric Six is good, but people tend not to mind that

I like Electric Six, not a guilty pleasure, especially as according to Jeku, I've come out of the closet. It probably doesn't help 'Sweet Transvestite' is on my list.

*Sings* I want to take you to gay bar!

I think any electro/dance/trance/techno I've enjoyed would count, it's not the kind of thing I normally like or something people expect of me and most people I know think it's crap. My mate mixes his own D&B and performs at night clubs and I've seen him and found that I actually enjoyed it (I've even written a review, though the editor took out the part where I wrote 'it was orgasmic'), it seems to be something you have to be in the right zone to grow a liking to.

when i was about 10 i was ashamed of listening to rock music. people made fun of me when they heard guns and roses blaring out of my casette player
i listen to mostly rock/ metal but among some of my friends i would be embaressed to listen to nightwish or any rock/metal with a female vocalist. But thats toleroble. My real secret underground stuff is mostly russian pop music from 80s and 90s. Now i hated pop music when i was a kid, but when i grew up and saw what pop music has become, 90s pop music seemed to be awesome in comparison.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZ660q3YK8o&feature=related
1989 this one is so cheezy and the voice is actually fake, that voice belongs to an opera singer and her real voice sucks.
also that band (mirage) had like 10 vocalists trought its existance

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZjDOFTvqAc&feature=related
this was an insaneley popular band in early 90s in russia. there is an interesting story about the mafia killing the lead vocalist (redhead) Also that song is known among the people as the Anthem of russian prostitutes.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X75WW5RMxZ8
this is a popular technopop band from the late 90s, theyre still around. my favorite song by them, well this one is like their greatest hit. idk why the sound quality is bad.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8q3jAQkuyTo
also this band tatu is actually known in america, many of their songs are remade in in english as well. this is a guilty pleasure because many people here hate them and my grandpa especially. started calling them all kinds of inappropriate things whenever their music video came up on tv. but i actually like the music video here better than the actual music

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_PBYWaZf0o
heard this song on the radio once, despite of not likeing rap, i actually liked this. but the music video is jus AMAZING watch it. apperently this music video is a project of 2 bands.

this is proboly not a guilty pleasure because its actually a good song that many people like

you can proboly tell that i actually really like this stuff based on how much detail i know about some of these but if any of my friends found out i listen to this stuff, they will be either freaked out or laught and make fun of me.

Beat me to it. I like Lady Gaga, and some of the dubstep remixes by her.

I mostly listen to classic metal music, but to my everlasting shame, I like a lot of 80's pop hits.

To a lesser extent, I'm kind of ashamed to say that I like Helix, and Quiet Riot, as most people consider them kind of "hair metal."

On a side note, watch that Quiet Riot music video, and see if I'm justified in calling it the worst music video ever (I really haven't seen very many, but it's the worst of the ones I've seen.).

that rap song is 2 band project 1 is a rapper BASTA and the other is gorod 311 (city 311) (i think its the blonde girl)
the song is truly very deep its like about how people in the fast paced world of a metropolis tend to forget about people who care about them and who need their help and they just ignore them and suff along those lines. Russian rap was always better in my opinion because the russian language is very poetic we had some great poets and writers like Pushkin, Lermontov, Gogol' Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky, Chehov etc. also the whole history of the country was constantly a struggle between the commons and the elite very often governmet oression. This was the actually the main inspiration for the authors and poets most of which were actually elites themselves who thought the system was unjust and for that some of them were sent to exile for it. If you are interested, you can look up Lermontov, he has some great poems the. english translations arent as good as original russia but they are better than i thought they would be. Lermontov was an officer in the Tzar army. When Pushkin died (in a duel) Lermontov wrote a poem called Death of a poet which was politically provocative against the government and the elite. For that Tzar exiled him to the south There he got killed in a duel by his cousin Martinov (which sounds a lot like a russian word for a small monkey). Lermontov called him a monkey and drew a cricature of him that looks like a monkey (btw Lermontov was a great artist and a musitian as well). Martinov was offended and called him on a duel and killed him.

TF2 Remixes, like this.

I don't enjoy it, but sadly Baby is stuck in my head.

Finally, I am ashamed to enjoy Jakie Evancho, from America's Got Talent. I hate that music! But I love the fact she's ten! BLUH.

Well... it's kind of shameful to say you listen to LocoRoco's theme over and over here, but this town seems to be full of fake people anyways... but my fav LocoRoco song:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfcJiZmsFC0

And majority of metalheads here listen to Children of Bodom, Slipknot or so on, so saying that you like Poets of the Fall, Nightwish, Korn, Rammstein or even Tool, will get them looking at you in a weird way... and did I mention Lordi? That bands seems to get all the hate here.

Really? I'm more likely to look at you funny if you listen to Slipknot because in my opinion, there's better loud bands out there.

Lordi on the other, they're just fun, not to be taken seriously, much like GWAR. I thought it was epic that they won Eurovision.
