It seems like that's pretty common for me and my friends. Anyone got any good horror stories along these lines? I just finished a LOT of music theory homework. It's 3:15 AM and I have school at 7, and work till 7 PM.

[edit]
oh god i just remembered I have to bike 5 miles back to my house after work.

Finishing a lot of homework doesn't sound much like procrastination, unless of course it's procrastination that caused it in the first place .

When I was at college, I had to give myself a whole day devoted to assignments - picked the easiest day, which was a Wednesday as I finished up at 2pm, then I'd spend the rest of that day and night working on all my homework. The problem for me is that if there's anything remotely more interesting, I'll just go and do that - but having a strict ragime is pretty easy to stick to if it's just 1 day. Gonna be stufying for my MCSE at some point, so I plan to do the same again, have 1 day just for homework, banning videogames, TV, and everything else until it's done.

the last 2 years of highschool were like this for me. I bareley passed most of my classes, stayed up untill 3-4 am playing videogames or screwing around. during the day i slept in all my classes. Then the last week of the year, i thought, well i am screwed. I dont wanna stay back, so for an entire week i did not sleep at all, jacked on energy drinks coffie and anything else that could keep me awake, I spent my time making up all the major assigment that i didnt do. unlike usually i comleted the assigments with the higest score, i managed to pull of amazing work that hit my teachers like a train, they had no idea i was capable of doing this kind of stuff untill now. My english teacher even told me that my writing assigment that i worked on for 2 nights straight is good enough to be published in some literature magazine. this gave me the extra adge i needed to just bareley pass my classes. On top of that i had work after school. so 5 days withuout sleep made me start seeing weird stuff like black spots and weird lines floating in front of my eyes sometimes. I also started mistaking some things for other things, i though a bunch of trashbags in the back of mcdonalds where i worked was a dead body of a person. stuff like that. I slept for 2 days after that when i passed all my classes. Next year the same thing didnt do crap, bareley passed, slept in classes, didnt do homework, and at the end of the year again about 4 days of no sleep making up all the work

Me being OCD when I went to jail, all we had was a bench or the floor to sleep on(holding cell), you had people trowing up stepping in it and walking around, hearing people taking a crap splatting crap all over the place, people with blood on there arms and face from getting into drunken fights or bashed in the head by the cops,(I could smell the blood on them) before I went to jail I was up for like 8 hours, and didn't sleep tell they gave me a bunk and cell to sleep in so I waited 23 1/2 hours tell I got the cell... so all in all I didn't sleep for 31 1/2 hours, I was falling asleep standing up... and there was no way I would sleep on the bench or floor, people were sleeping by the toilet... theres no soap! and you have to eat sandwiches and the only way to get a drink was the sink over the toilet and some guy was siting on it... I HELLA learned my lesson and by God I wont go back there again!

With all the germs and no sleep that was a nightmare! (I liked the food though) when your hungry and stressed, you get into like a survival mode, no complaints or nothing and every thing that keeps you alive is all you care about(its not like theres computers in jail hahaha the only thing there is to think about is food/water and when the hell your going to get out hahahaha) and I was only going to stay in there for two days hahahaa, LOL I didn't drink a drop of water for like 50 hours tell I got out hahahahaa I was getting the juice from the oranges in my bags of food for something to drink.

@CocaCola I Drank (2 40oz) (1 12oz) (2 margaritas) and a shot of Jim Beam and I drove home... like a bat out of hell.

all in all I did 50 hours, believe me every hour is a hour in slow motion when you don't want to be there and have no were to sleep...
but the guys in there were cool, I was like a clown making people laugh... making fun of other people, but it was for fun so everyone was cool even the people I was making fun of... (making fun of why they were in jail) some people do the dumbest things(high speed chases, stilling, breaking parole, fighting... ect

(and I was dumb too for doing what I did, now I have a family member picking me up when I drink even just one beer, Bad things don't need to just stay bad, make good of it)

I used to stay up very late in college because of playing video games. I mostly slept for only 2-3 hours every day and some times i don't sleep for consecutive days. But I was still active and capable mostly because i don't have to much physical work to do. But I still remember my mind getting a little dizzy when thinking during my third day of no sleep.
But the worst thing that happen was the tremors and shakiness that happened to my body because of lack of sleep. I had to take in medicine to stop the shaking for months. It was terrible. Now I sleep for 5 hours regularly and am fine. I am not shaking or having tremors specially now that i gained 50% more weight. With all this fat, my body wont shake easily. But I better get exercise and do body building.
Procastination is a bad habit. You should build discipline and some time management. You can search the internet for more information. Good luck.

I'm definitely a night owl, but it definitely takes a toll on my body and life. Maybe it's the glow of the computer screen that doesn't allow my brain to shut off, or maybe I just get sucked in so far that I feel like the computer is an extension of me and don't feel tired unless my body is past it's limit. It's probably a combination of things.

And I also think it's anxiety related. I'm a great multitasker, but I'm not a good juggler. I usually have a few projects on my plate at once, especially with classes starting up again, and my brain feels scrambled and helpless to do anything half the day until I'm able to finally focus on a task and get some forward motion going.

This staying up till 4am business isn't good though... I don't really feel rested unless I sleep till noon, and by then the world has already been alive for several hours.

I'm not really sure what to do about it though to be honest. I go to school online and hang out with my friends online. And the night is one of those times where it's quite and there are no distractions... so it makes for awesome work time.

Yeah, I'm the same, I'd stay up till daft hours if I didn't have to get up at 6am. I tend to sleep till mid-day at the weekends tho. I think my favorite times to work is late Saturday night, when everyone else is asleep, just seem to get much more done in that time than any other - it's sometimes good to work late when you know you'll sleep right away, and can sleep late the next day.

I often work the same way - trouble is that the bugs seem to wake up around midnight.

I work in the office of my house - which is like on the other side of my house than my room - and there are spiders in there... I usually don't see one until 12 or so, and then I see a couple running across the floor right next to my feet. I've called it quits a couple of times cuz im just too scared

I've been staying up way too late lately.

It started a couple of weeks ago with a random bout of insomnia. One night, I just couldn't fall asleep, even though I was exhausted. I didn't fall asleep until sometime around 4AM...this happened to land on a weekend, so I slept in. Naturally, the next night, I wasn't very tired again, so I stayed up late watching stuff on Hulu...and the process has just been repeating itself. Last night I was up till 4 again...

I'm exhausted and have got to fix this.
