Oh their nothing major, you just use then to store files on and such. Kinda essential though if you want your computer to boot . Judging from your other thread you could reuse the HDD(Hard Drive) and optical drive from your old computer

Not meaning to be snobby, but if you don't know what a HDD is then I don't think you should be building a system.

Also would this be better for RAM than the one I have above since my mobo is 1333 mhz???

The first RAM you posted was faster than this, and as far as i can tell your mobo should handle it. but if you've got a 64-bit OS, and you want the extra 2GB, go for it. but if you're going to be running a 32-bit OS then keep it to 4GB.

Uh... what's better 32 or 64? any downsides to 64? And I thought if I only had a 1333 mhz mobo I could only hold 1333 mhz

Also should I get this:
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125333&Tpk=GIGABYTE%20GeForce%20460%201gb
instead of this:
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125341&cm_re=Gigabyte_GeForce_GTS_450-_-14-125-341-_-Product
?

Is the second one compatible with everything?

32 bit only utilizes 3.8gb RAM (Somewhere around there) but 64 bit utilizes up to... I forget but it's wayyy more then you will ever get or can even fit in your mobo.

Alright, im good with 32-bit, does 32-bit have a max of how powerful the graphics/processor or anything can be?
Also the first link I posted right above this comment, is that compatible with everything?
Can my case fit everything?
Are the fans on the case enough to keep everything cool?
One more time, everythings compatible:

I would suggest getting http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104175 for memory instead as the stuff you listed is a triple channel set and your processor/motherboard only supports dual channel

Depending on what you use your computer for as to whether you go 32/64 bit. 4GB RAM should be plenty for some time to come which a 32bit OS can fully utilize (almost).

Running a 64bit OS for standard everyday tasks isn't recommended, the longer addresses actually slow things down slightly. I'd only go 64bit if you are doing intensive computing such as music/photo editing etc. of which the programs are actually fully designed to run in 64bit mode.

I believe you will have a lot fewer issues with a SATA drive than an IDE. I have not seen an IDE HD used in a new computer since the XP days. Your board has 6 SATA hookups and only 1 IDE. IDE = old and difficult. SATA = new and easy

There are two kinds of computer users. Those that use Macs and those that wish they did.

Um, wouldn't a 360 be cheaper? 300 dollars as opposed to 850?

Because you did say you'd consider it.

It may be over twice the price, but I'm pretty confident that the GTX 460 will outlive the 360.

No-one says you need to bump the graphics of every game to the highest, GTA IV on the 360 is around medium with "definition" off yet still looks awesome.

You'll just have the advantage of prettier games until 3 years when PC game technology will be stupidly advanced in one way or another and you're forced back to console quality. But hey, better to buy another $230 graphics card every 5 years than yet another full console at the average starting price of $400-500, right?

I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

Can you program on the 360?
Isn't it much easier to mod games on the PC?

Yeah, so about every 5 years I have to get a new graphics Aaagreen? How long till I'll have to get anything else changed? Processor?

Depends, if the processors stay kinda the same, then that one should go for quite some time. But if suddenly, I don't know, holographic 1000ghz cores come out at a price of 100 euro's each, you have a chance of needing to replace yours. It's about taking risks ( but honestly, it should last quite some time )

Processor is tricky to predict, being as not even modern PC games take full advantage of a quad core. Yours should last a good while anyway, when 6-8 cores take over then you'll notice.
