Hey, i decided to make a really, really retro game, make sure you have sound enabled because it HAS SOUND!

Anyway, over the past week in my spare time at school, i have been learning c# but in a console app (cos we have to this year), and since i know a lot about programming, during the lessons i just do my own stuff (its a basic programming course). I have managed to cobble together this very retro looking game which spans a surprising 1k lines of code.
(its made in VS2010 so u might need to install a later .net framework)

The highly detailed and outstanding artwork has lead me to reveal the concept art for the game:

And the actual ingame screenshot you ask?

What is the game about?
Your this blue X who needs to kill all the white evil Xs, however the white Xs will also kill eachother.
The game is very arcady in the fact that it doesnt end, and you get a scored by how well you do.
The instructions are said ingame.

Oh and, enjoy the uber music which was made with the Beep() command, lol.

Smoke me a kipper, ill be back for breakfast.

i have to say yes. because they remind us where gaming realy began and it reminds us the real geniuses in the gaming world.

and also they are fun to play because they take you back to that great first gaming memory

No... .Net is what microsoft use in visual studio.
http://www.microsoft.com/net/

Quote: "The .NET Framework is:
Common Language Runtime – provides an abstraction layer over the operating system
Base Class Libraries – pre-built code for common low-level programming tasks
Development frameworks and technologies – reusable, customizable solutions for larger programming tasks"

Im not gona give out my illegally downloaded copy of skynet when theres no robots?!

i like retro games especially the 3d ones from the 90s those were soo cool. never got much into the 80s games because honestly i just dont like the graphics of those games. the 90s is more like my childhood. I didnt get my own computer untill 2003 but my brother had this pile if pc gamer magazines from 1996-2003 and i used to look at them very often. they were so much better than todays pc gamer mags, especially the advertizements we so much funnier and nerdy. i have no idea why they started making dull adverts in 00s i really wish i could relive the 90s

Retro games are brilliant. Games suck these days. People spend more time drooling over faphics (I checked google and I made that up ) than actually playing having fun. I'm even getting a bit annoyed with RDR which I just bought because the missions are all "go over there... now go over there" what's the point of a free roaming game when I'm being bossed around everywhere? And if I deviate 10 yards off track I get a game over and have to play through the whole thing again!

There are more good retro games than modern games, but you won't be able to say that in 10 years when the 360 is sooo last decade.

I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

I'd say 1997 is pretty retro.

Anyway, what kind of evil being would dislike retro games? I don't even think chavs sink that low.

I just googled "How old is retro" and found a definition I like: Anything before the last generation. So that means PS1 and such have become retro.

On the Google predictive search thing the second suggestion was "How old am I", what kind of idiot searches that on Google? It makes me cry.

Just searched it, and what it does is it can tell you your age in like, hours and stuff.

http://www.mathcats.com/explore/age/calculator.html is an example

Yeah I looked at that too, turns out five days ago I went over the 200,000 hour mark! Which was my brother's birthday by coincidence.
