I prefer the second one, but you might want to reduce the shine in the words, it kind of gets in the way.

Which one is that? The second 'Apollo' banner, or the 'NOOB' banner?

Quote: "add a picture of bob the builder to the background on the 3rd one"

I'll see if I can do that.

<EDIT>

Hum, on the other hand, wouldn't that be against the copyrights of Bob the Builder??

This one is a lot better, don't you think?

And, while I was at it, I quickly made another one (oh, and the planet image, I made myself):

How about these...? My personal favorites are numbre 1,2,3,4,5,6 and 8 (well, actually I like the 7th one too, but it needs to be a little darker, I think). What are your favorites?

Cheers

Hum, just wondering if I can reload one of the previous banners (the one with the purple planet in the background and the Saturn like rings)?
Somehow, there whent something wrong with the image quality. The text 'Lost somewhere' has a nasty blur or deformation around it, which it doesn't have on my PC.

DJ Almix sent me the banners a few days ago, in line with the dates in the first post. I may be able to pick up a few of those that came in after.

The ones that will be included:

1. Are grammatically correct
2. Of good enough quality to represent the TGC forums
3. Don't include anybody else's IP - we can't use characters and logos from other brands.

Thanks for everybody's efforts, and especially DJ Almix for putting this together.

So, can I repost one of my previous banners (the one with the planet in the background)? The text on that image has a nasty blur, which it didn't have before the upload, so I guess something whent wrong there.

Cheers

Then I'll drop the watermark, I've attached the original image. Hopefully it can still be added.

EDIT: Although I think I've seen a few before that had "made by _____" before.

I know this competition is over, I didn't really want to participate either, but I just had this idea for a banner.

It went out quite alright. I'll be glad if someone likes it - even more if I'll see it on the forum one day.

Now the plot thickens, the fps decreases, and the awesomeness goes through the roof.

Yeah sure, especially if you think of the fact that the banners are shown on the forums front page
But really, I feel like I need my dose of TGC forums everyday
And please people, don't think I've anything to do with heroine or such

Thin-Black Italicized Text

Quote: "But hey, I guess here are mostly adults... "

That's not quite true, (while I'm not a registered adult I'm 618 days away). I do like what people consider dirty humor (sex, drugs, swearing, ect.), but I don't think it belongs on this forum for three reasons.

1. This forum is a lot more mature, at least relative to most forums. I think if we were more open it would be cool, but in the past people have abused that power and it has started some very big flame wars.

2. Excessive swearing diminishes your vocabulary. I think it's ok to use once in a while, but some times we get kids here who seem to think every person solves problems on the internet with 10 swear words in two sentences and misspelled words.

3. There are actually a lot of kids (I consider a kid 12 and under in this case) who are on this forums (that sounds so creepy, but I don't mean it that way). The only way I know this is because FPS Creator went through a whole "booming" popularity phase and we got a ton of new people who joined this forums. I occasionally check the FPS Creator forums to see migration progress and there are a lot of users with "2010" join dates, which, based on there posts, seem to be less mature and not very well thought-out.

Received Today

Quote: "Hi Alex,

I've sent the banners to Paul to add to the site. We've taken the best 20, the ones that were removed were mainly due to:

banners with other IP (e.g Star Wars, Mario)
low-quality
anything with grammatical errors
anything that just doesn't make sense - except the Pancake mix one. It makes no sense to me whatsoever but apparently it's one of those internet trends!

All the Best,
Steve Vink"
