2. A picture from speccy is more interesting to look at, download.
3. No being bias to other members if their build isn't up to your par.

@Charger Bandit, Surely its would be better to wait to build a new computer as the new intel, amd and ATI 6000 series are almost here?

Ready to Laugh (or cry)?

Here are my System info/specs..
--------------------------------------------------------

Operating System
MS Windows XP Home 32Bit SP2

CPU
AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2800+ (2074.8MHz)

RAM
2.0GB DDR @ 165MHz (2.5-3-3-7)

Motherboard
KT600-8237 (Socket A)

Graphics
Monitor: ViewSonic VX1940w @ 1680x1050
Graphics Card: 512MB nVidia GeForce 7300 GT (BFG Tech) (AGP Slot)

Hard Drive
117GB SAMSUNG SAMSUNG SP1213N (IDE)

Optical Drives
LG Brand HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H22N

Audio
Creative Audigy Gamer Audio Processor (WDM)

--------------------------------------------------------

My system is running smoothly, everything I use daily performs very well, 20 second boot time (max) I still have 37.4 gig free on my HD. Games run fine, at anywhere from 27fps to 70 fps. I have no complaints and I'm not really looking to upgrade any time soon.

I also have a 500Gb external HD I use for backups.. it still has 417Gig free space on it.

My philosophy is.. "If it aint broke don't fix it"

Cheers!

Melancholic: Intel...pfft way too expensive for what they give. And I really doubt Radeon 6000 will give anything so uber that would convince me.

Ok, so you have a VERY new processor, but only 2 GB RAM and 32 bit Windows... what kind of statement is that?

I read the other day that Win XP still makes up 2/3 of the Windows machines out there. Looks 50/50 here.

Uni students dont have that much cash to blow Its easier to upgrade the ram than the processer so i can just buy 4x4gb sticks one by one when i get the cash, then ill just reinstall 7 on 64bit. Im also hooked up to a 46ich Hdmi monitor with 1980 by something resolution. Its just not on right now since theres now need

As for the performance, well, about hour render on my old rig takes about a 1-10 seconds. Albeit that 2010 max has a refined render system, its still a huge time difference. I havnt clocked it at full usage yet either. I can also OC about another 4ghx out of it, but theres really no need lol.

And it is perfect bar a little rattle when you turn it on. (Like on a dirty pc fan) Ive taken it apart to clean it a few times and it goes but we've just knocked down a few walls for a conservatory so theres alot of dust about. Ive got to service both pc and monitor lol

Woh, what did that cost ya? Last time I checked, a 32GB was still over $100, I can't imagine what they want for a 250GB.

I use it primarily for coding, web design and "office" stuff

doesnt matter, just because the majority uses it illegaly, it doesnt mean EVERYONE does, therefore accusing someone for piracing because of that is WRONG.
also "torrenting" isnt always illegal either! since you can use torrents for LEGAL STUFF aswell.

drop this now?

Funny how so many people like to jump and point fingers at people, accusing them of downloading illegally, but wouldn't someone who also downloads illegally know virtual drives are used in this case? If you want to stay pure, as you make out to be, I suggest you stop pointing fingers.

Linux Downloads use .isos

Certain MMORPGs are downloadable via torrent (which are linked on their official website).

Those are the only times I've used a torrent or an iso tool, though in the end I only used the .iso in a virtual machine (so I didn't need the iso tool).

It's not uncommon.
