I'm tempted into buying either a virtual or dedicated server to host web sites and game servers on (I know dedicated is the way to go for game servers, but I want to try and save money if I can).

So I was wondering if anyone here knows what to use for auto installing software for a user that has signed up and paid for a package? I've heard of Plesk, but I'm not sure if it has the features I need. Would I be able to link paypal up with the auto installer so when the payment has gone through it starts installing for that user?

cpanel is pretty much what every user and their brother is going to want.

Virtualmin GPL or Pro is by far more powerful, but takes a bit of getting used to for both the admin and users.

Well say a user signs up to my site and wants to buy a server, how can I get cpanel to install the server for that user when they pay?

Oh that would be through your website cart. RVSkin is quite good, but limited like all stock cart software

http://www.rvskin.com/index.php?page=public/index

There's a lot of other options too, (a search for "rvskin alternative" would bring up a lot of results)

To offer the best service for your specific customers, develop your own software that uses the cpanel API (or virtualmin api, or whatever panel api)
