Hi all

It's been a while, finally studying 'real' programming (Still love you Dark Basic but now I have an understanding of OOP ) and working so don't have much time lol. Anyway as I'm sure some of you know (yeah I like to think people know and remember me on this forum ) I live in Australia.

Now the exchange rate between Australia and the US is almost a dollar-for-a-dollar so I want to buy some tech from the US (You guys have really cheap prices) and update my build. I've had a look at Newegg but was wondering if anyone knew of a better place? I'm open to all recommendations!

Thanks for the help and I hope this doesn't go against the AUP it's been a while and I've forgotten :S please have mercy!

Cheers!

I did a similar thing as I'm in the UK. Bought my entire build from Newegg and had a friend of mine ship it over. Unfortunately the case was rather too large and cost something like $119 to ship, even then it came out £100 cheaper than buying everything from here.

Well that's the great thing! I don't need a case or OS and I'll get the PSU from here so I don't have to get any power conversion kits or adapters. Just want to get the internals, CPU, GPU RAM MOBO HDD's etc...

Hopefully can save a bit!

So you reckon Newegg is the way to go?

They're all standard parts - usually with a little fuse on the back to switch between 110V - 230V depending on the mains voltage in your country.

Yep, Newegg is definitely the way to go, you can fit all the components you need into a reasonable sized box and shipping shouldn't be any more than $50 (US). It's worth noting that they don't actually ship internationally, they only deliver within the US and Canada - so you'll need a chum to send it to and post. You also can't order to a different address than your credit card, so you'll need to get them to order it too.
