Hey everybody.
It's NaNoWriMo time again, it starts Monday 1st November. For those who don't know what it is, it's the National Novel Writing Month, which is where you set yourself the challenge of writing a whole novel in a single month - you're considered a success if you hit 50,000 words or more. There's no prizes as it's essentially a writing marathon. The organisation likes to raise money, but that's not mandatory to participate.

I'm wondering if anybody going for it this year? I didn't do it last year because I couldn't fit it around my final year uni work, but I hit 50,504 words in 2008. I'd like to emphasise that it's a great experience.
I've been planning my novel for it. I'm delving slightly into Science Fiction, but in a present day setting. I don't want to give much away because there's some stuff integral to the plot. Naturally, as it's my writing, it'll have quite a depressing start to it, but don't worry, there will be happy moments.
My aim for this one is to finish it and see if I can get it onto Amazon Kindle, just to see how well I do.
As a previous winner, I'm happy to offer advice on how I managed to hit 50k.
Also - you can follow my progress online(or add me as buddy):

Good luck to those who are doing it.
