So I've been working on my new website using google sites as the host site. I decided to get a custom URL name, the only problem is I'm unable to link the URl to the google sites site.

I go to my URL provider, goto the DNS settings and set the site map to the google server which is: ghs.google.com. My provider gives me an error, "server or provider does not exist".

Can anyone shed some light on this for me, as this is the first time I've dealt with custom URL names. Even better, anyone who can give me a 'for dummies' step-by-step instructions would be awesome.

Thanks.

...seriously, my sig was deleted because of 8 pixels? Oh well, no hard feelings to the mod who did it.

With all of mine, I have to go to the URL providers website; and set the nameservers to the addresses provided by the Web hosting people.

I'm not sure if this works with Google sites tho (I can't say I have ever tried tbh)

You could try and make a CNAME record for the URL and point that to ghs.google.com?

Sorry I can't help more.
