I use an ad blocker

But still its uncalled for.

I know TGC cant control everything google ads puts on the forums, but still.

I think most web hosts choose what ads will at least appear based on the website topic so they can get people who are interested in those topics most. (i.e gamestop ad's on a geek forum, or cooking utensils on a recipes website.)

The worst I've ever seen on this forum was the Evony ads. But I've never seen anything as bad as the ad in that screen. Although, sometimes the Evony ads came pretty close. Thankfully, I don't see as many of those ads any more. Though I must admit I don't come here as often as I used to.

Or I just don't want my teenage son to see such things, since he's still at a very impressionable age. I know how MY emotional development was affected when I was exposed to such things at the very young age I was. It took years for me to learn to respect women as people, and I don't want my son to have to go through the same process.

It would make sense for TGC not to have these ad's mainly because this forum is so wide now with it's age range.

As for my comments, yes I realize they were inappropriate, but still, it's a woman and as a heterosexual male I like women, but I am a mature person and don't think about sex every two seconds (which this forum thinks, apparently, with kittens, that we do). I see the logical side of this argument and agree with Herakles, ad's like that can cause detrimental effects to young children and can destroy there respect for women (I have seen this happen, it's not pretty.)

And there is a difference between appealing, and annoying. Right now these ad's are unsafe and just in-our-faces, they don't belong on this forum.

Please TGC, there are a million other ad's you could choose from.

Like was said before, TGC doesn't control each and every single company that gets an ad here. It's up to Google to control. TGC can request to avoid ads on a certain topic, and this one obviously fell through the censor. It's more likely an issue with Google, not with TGC.

Yeah, from what I understand, google adsense is just a way for websites to make money, and its not a direct ad service, but more like an embedded flash player that just displays whatever ad google says.

I believe that the page contents is just one of many things that are taken into account on which ad to show someone.

The page content and the type of website are highly forceful in the type of ad that is shown, but also the users internet browsing trends are taken into account.

For example, when I use to play online browser games, that was the type of adds I got, now when im an importer / wholesaler, I get alot of ads concerning wholesale websites, business websites, ebay, chinese wholesale websites, etc.

You guys can argue all you want and try to make it right, but its not.
It just simply isn't.
