Hi All

When i want to capture AVI Footage offscreen, (like to show game progress), I always used a programe called "CamStudio", allthough it is excellent for Video Recording, It dosnt record sound, (Whats coming out the speakers), Does anyone know of any free software what will record both video and sound?

Thanks for any advice.

I'd say Fraps is definitely the best for recording DirectX footage, and it'll get the best frame rate and quality. However, it does cost money...

the free version of fraps says it has a watermark, how bad is this watermark, (hopefully not in big letters across the middle of the video)

It says full version is $37, which is proberbly about £20 which isn't too bad, but i am unfortunately skint for the next few months, will wait to see if there are any others recommended.

Just make sure you disable outputting from your mic, or your sound card may just explode.

You can add "Stereo Mix" to you Recording devices in sound options, i don't remember exactly how but then you can set CamStudio to record audio from that
