After I spent most the money I got from Christmas, I now have $112. I want to a) pimp out my iPod with music and apps (maybe even a movie, particularly dinner for schmucks) b) get a case for my iPodd c) get video games.

What percentage of this money should be spent on what? Should I even get Dinner for Schmucks? I always find myself regretting purchases so I would like some advice on this.

Thanks,
-Batman

i would spend all the money on some cool gadget. Preferably someting rare, not crappy (good quality) and something that looks cool. i am big on the looks part but thats just me. and good quality gadgets tend to be rare because mainstream usually sells more or less crappy quality gadgets because they are cheap and they sell be3cause everyone can afford it. good quality stuff is expensive, and less peop-le buy it and companies end up loosing money on a good quality because they want your gadget to break or wear out so you go buy a nother one. If you buy something thats actually great rock solid gold quality, it will last you a long time and you wont buy another one for a long time. because companies actually loose money of superior quality to balance out they charge more money for something thats gonna last. in reality it dosent really cost as much as they charge. manufacturing process is a real money saver when it comes to that. but the selling point which makes you buy another one from the same company after yours breaks

iPod cases range from 20-25 unless I just want a black peice of construction paper for a case. I'm saying, should I get one at all?

For Pimpin I think I'm going to go ahead and just use 20-30 dollars.

This would leave over 50 dollars for games, at the least. So what games should I get? As far as Steam or PS3, etc. I have a DS PS2 PS3 Wii and Steam.

And I have 109 dollars, not 300, PAGAN.

Well, on Steam you got:

Bioshock - $4.99
BioShock2 - $13.99
Left 4 Dead - $9.99
Left 4 Dead 2 - $9.99
Borderlands - $9.99
Half Life - $4.99
Half Life2 - $4.99
Poral - $7.49
Assassin's Creed - $14.99
Assassin's Creed2 - $14.99

Those games would provide a lot of awesome playtime. I'm not too sure what you're into. On another note they're selling indie packs for $4.99 each, and each comes with 5 games. If you take the Steam route, and take advantage of the sale they're having right now you'll get a lot more for your money.

Have lfd2, ac2, portal, half life, borderlands, and bioshocks not my type.

that leaves me nothing but lfd1 and ac1, which i hear are worse then the second ones.

the only game ive wanted too badly was probably civilization V. and I got that yesterday as a gift since it was on sale. :/

Those aren't the only games on sale. Use the search function!

And you can't always go by what you hear. I loved all of the games that I listed. I still even play them from time to time. I liked the 2nd ones better...but that doesn't mean the first ones suck.

There are a lot of games really cheap right now though. The indie packs are usually a blast.

People disliked AC1, but it's one of my all-time favorites! There's very little extra it offers (except the story) though compared to ac2, so you probably won't enjoy it now that AC2 is out.

Also, gratuitous space battles is awesome, check it out!

second.

Don't bother using any money to pimp, you'll be bored of it in a few months and wonder why you wasted so much money on it. I'd say use the pimping money solely for apps and then get on steam and spend the rest. A case is useful but not necessary, mine is scratched to high hell but it still works fine.

I'm currently addicted to Super Meat Boy, Bad Company 2, Vanquish and the Assassins Creed: Brotherhood. Would recommend you pick up Dragon Age and the Mass Effect series if you haven't already. Just Cause 2 is immense amounts of fun, New Vegas is a solid RPG experience. F1 2010 and the new 'Need for Speed *cough*burnout*cough*' along with Forza 3 are all good racing games.

As for movies, don't bother and go out and pick up a dvd copy of Inception, Toy Story 3 or Book of Eli.

Super Meat Boy is too hard for me I think, I saw someone else play it. Have most of those games but I've only played Mass Effect 2 on my brother's computer, and we all know there's no chance of me being able to get my hands on his computer again.

I had Just Cause 2 for PS3 but gave it to Gamestop for credits back when I was stupid. Should I get it again?

We're going to a lot of places today, I'll stop by Target or Best Buy and check out the cases. If there's one I fall in love with that's modestly priced I'll go for it.

Current Balance: $96

Went to best buy, got a $27 case, looks awesome, might take some pictures of it later.

Balance: $69

But THEN I got a 30 dollar gift card to iTunes from my sister in Louisiana. So, although this seems quite obvious, this good?

-69 dollars to video games

-30 dollars to iTunes

Or maybe throw 4, or 9, dollars from the video games to give me some extra money for the iTunes. I have a lot of music that I want, plus apps.
