I was thinking about buying an album on Amazon and like always went to check my account balance before purchasing anything, only to see that i have $44.17 less than I should. I go look at my account history to see TWO charges of $19.95 for "CS *ONLINE SERVICE 1210" and a number 800-848-8990. I googled "CS ONLINE SERVICE" to find that CompuServe is billing people using unfair tactics. The phone number I see reported on some blogs ranting about this is the same number I see on my account history, so I know it is them.

Problem: I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH COMPUSERVE AT ALL. Either they're doing something illegal to bill me for &**^& that I never signed up for, or someone else is stealing my identity to pay for CompuServe service.

WHAT DO I DO?

Well, umm, talk to your bank?

That seems like the most sensible option, although I can't see how CompuServe feasibly got your money with you giving them your details.
