Whenever I try to get onto facebook, I get the weird thing shown in the screenshot attached. Looks a bit suspicious. The fist time it happened I added \ to the end or the URL and was fine. But not nothing works.

Not happening for me, it logs in just fine for me. could be that he brought down the site to update it.

I ran a virus scan and it didn't work. Strangely enough after about 3 hours i tried putting the \ at the end of it again and it worked. this is the second time it has happened to me. I ran a full system scan and i removed 3 threats, but it didn't fix the problem. Any suggestions?

hmm, check the source code of the page?
Also, what virus scan did you run? This sounds a lot like a virus to me... but that might just be me being paranoid. You might want to start in safe mode, then run a "malwarebytes" and "spybot search and destroy" scan. (sounds like it could be spyware)

check your hosts file, a 1337 haxor might have edited it so when you type facebook.com it takes you elsewhere.

windows xp/7/vista: %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\
or if you're on 64-bit XP: %SystemRoot%\SysWOW64\drivers\etc\

open it in notepad, and delete any lines with the facebook address. in fact, unless your into web development, the list should be empty.

Well if you fear a virus attack. I'd click on start-run and type regedit. Don't remove anything in there, just look around in there for anything that is named or seems odd. Google it to make sure its not something critical and then ask for advice further before removing. Typicaly, if it is a virus, they can be found easly in the registry and removed as well.

I checked it and it is not empty, instead it has a sample file inside. copyrighted so I wont post it. Doesn't have any facebook links or anything, only a few random example things.

Have you thought to email facebook? It looks like it could be a status message by some silly server admin.

hmmmmm well it happened again, and adding the \ or / at the end didn't work. So i randomly typed a ton of stuff at the end and it brought to a page saying that the page I wanted didn't exist. I clicked on home and I was fine. Very random. The weirdest thing this time was I was chatting to my friend, clicked home to refresh the page, and that is when it happened. To me it does not seem like a virus... more like something with my internet.

Well, back with more issues. I am really starting to think a Facebook employee just wants a laugh. Now I have access denied!

It could just be an infected hosts file on your router.

maybe your internet? are you going through a router that a friend/sibling has access to and knowledge of? At college they blocked facebook but you could add a forward slash at the end to get on it and they that via the router, so make sure its not a friend or someone playing pranks.

My brother is in college. But he wasn't home when any of these things happened. As usual, I left it for a while, and when I came back it worked. I'm really not sure what is going on. I might add that my brother can get on facebook at college as well.

I don't know but I keep hearing people say they keep in touch with friends on it somehow I use good old postal mail to keep in touch with my friends, sometimes it can take as little as a week for them to receive me letters, pretty quick ,eh?
