HTML and CSS?
http://www.w3schools.com/
(really what you need to know about is CSS and HTML, other stuff just adds fancy features or interactivity/dynamic stuff. Also, the most impressive portfolios I've seen are programmed in flash. Like this, though I'm not sure it's a portfolio)

Try out deviantart.com. You'll get a lot of nice feedback from thousands of artists. Lot of cool features and you can even setup a store to sell prints of your art.

I haven't updated mine in a long time...

I thought he had a deviantart already?

That aside though,Wolf if you need a simple , yet good looking ,serving it's purpose website, contact me.

If you want to try out for yourself , you could try Web Page Maker. It's quite easy to use and it's drag and drop.I haven't used it in years, but I'm sure it'll do the job.

Well, most portfolios are just simple html websites with a good-looking theme for showing-off your work. If you're into 2d CG, you should not have any problems with designing a template. The only remotly hard thing would be cutting it and assembling in HTML...

I have basic knowledge about HTML...but not enough to design a webpage on my own.

Thanks Josh, but I have a deviantart Account.

May I see yours?

No...too easy... Designing a site with Dreamweaver shouldn't be a problem...the trouble for me would be getting it in the internet.

Any help there?

Thats what I'm aiming for and no, I haven't....I'm basically looking for a site I can upload my site...like I said, I'm a complete newbie to this internet stuff.

Microsoft just released a new tool here:

http://www.microsoft.com/web/webmatrix/

Or at least, it just hit the news. I have no idea if it'll do what you need, nor have I had a chance to use it yet. I think it might help you get going depending on who you host through

So you want a webhost rather than software to make a website? If that's the case, I'd recommend Byethost. They have a free service which isn't bad and has lots of space. Another good one is 110mb.com. You only get quite limited storage space with them (110mb believe it or not ) but their system is very easy to use and upload with.

Don't know any, free, webspace hoster that surpasses Bplaced (no advertising, 2 gb space, no file size limit, no bandwidth limit, 2 ftp accounts, 2 MySQL accounts, etc.) - Bplaced.

@Wolf: Send me a message on ICQ and I'll gladly help you out and explain everything to you.

Doesn't display correctly in IE

I've been using FastDomain for years now; unlimited space and bandwidth. Though they will constantly set your account to auto-renew even after you explicitly tell them not to. BlueHost is another I'd be willing to try.

The best thing to use in my own opinion would be wordpress, you can setup your site with Microsoft Frontpage or Dreamweaver, and upload the files to an FTP server using FileZilla.

SMF might be also interesting to use as well, if im not wrong it looks like this site could be using Phbb3 hmm.

Wolf, depending on what you want to accomplish really.

Do you want static, or do you want to be able to update it constantly?
If you want to be updating it all the time, I would certainly use wordpress.
