Hello! I got this for Christmas and have had no problems until I watched The Mist today. When I got to a few minutes before the end of the movie the player just stopped working. The computer froze for a minute or two then the system was back to normal, but the player wouldn't open when I pressed the eject button. So I restarted, but now it hanged on the bios checks. So I had to force shut if off, which I hate doing, and then... everything worked fine! My first thought was maybe it overheated but it's not a very long movie, 2 hours and 7 minutes. I watched No Country For Old Men yesterday which is 2 hours long and it did just fine with that. Has anyone had this problem? Do you think it's already starting to die?

Sounds like it failed. I'd say if it does it again you should RMA it. If you're paranoid, go ahead and replace it.

As a general rule of thumb, hardware either fails in the first 3 months or only years later.

Hmmm, well it's not too expensive so I think I'll just stick with it for as long as possible
